Ok so getting this started. Back in 2007 I got the idea in my head to build a sand car. This was after only camping in tents and riding my quad. Over the years to come I bought several cars and have learned what I wanted and what will work for me. This tread is to document the journey.

this is the first beam car way back when this started

so after the beam car and me deciding that i was hooked come the worst purchase in my life lol. I picked up a mectec car that a guy had cut up the long travel and welded a beam on and changed the rear to a air bag thing with mon matching bags no compressor a corvair motot and trans with u joint axles. and well my eyes were bigger than my brain. Needless to say i cant even find a picture of the mess that it was. so I donated the the motor and trans to a local high school auto shop and cut up and recycled the steel from the frame due to the fact I could not make it safe.

I was disheartened and gave up for a bit but i longed for mother G.

this car was fun light weight fast a little schey but what a blast to drive.

Its 100% true that its all about the Journey and not do much the destination - so whats next on your Journey?

Well after that I stepped up to a ls1 2d sandtrix

A lot of the parts are for mock up so don’t give me to much grief over the primer job. Handling the rust from several years of neglecting this project.

Moved inside getting a lot done power steering wired dash made seats in. I think the spring rate in the rear is soft so going have to get weighed. The 450 lbs just seam to have a lot of sag.
