Who you got?

Seek and Destroy is awesome.. but with ABC.. Ozzy will always be #1

abc

Toss up between Seek and Destroy and the Trooper. Although if I remember back that far Metal Health was on the radio far more than either Maiden or Metalica at the time . . .
Quiet Riot was all over MTV too.  Maiden and Metallica, never.  Quiet Riot was my first ever tape.  MTV had me hooked.  And that super awesome metal mask.

ZZ Top. I was going through a southern rock phase (Skynard, ZZ, Molly Hatchet, etc) back then. Always loved Ted, AC/DC, Ozzy though.

In 83 the only people I knew who were listening to Metallica were the guy's in Flotsam, and that kind of worked out for one of the guy's   . I didn't first hear any Metallica until Ride the Lighting came out in 84?

Played about half the songs on the list in one band or another My favorite one to play would of been Metal Health though probably played Breaking the Chains the most though, Including one time with Joey from Anthrax singing at a jam night.

The only ones I can really listen to today would be Bark at the Moon or Seek & Destroy all the others have severe burnout for me with The Trooper being at the top of that list

DIO....Rainbow in the DARK. Peace

Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies. I was 13 and a skate punk.
Great point, made me curious and these albums were also 1983

Mommy's Little Monster - Social Distortion

More Fun in the New World - X

Out of Step - Minor Threat

Every song is great.............in 1983, only the rich people had MTV, we still only had 13 channels on the air.

I was 7, we were in shethole apartments.   We had MTV.  It ruled my world.  It was the first punishment I recall.  "No MTV!"

Freaking Romatics "talking in your sleep" seemed to be on every 10 minutes.

I didn't get MTV until I moved out and lived in a Shethole apartment as well, 1987.  I missed a lot of good videos by then.

We were not rich :crusty:  but we never missed a PPV Boxing Fight, WWF WrestleMania, etc.

Hell the Spice Chanel made me who i am today - LOL

I didn't get into X until way later in life. When I was younger, I didn't understand how they were considered "punk rock". Well, I still don't think they are punk but I am a fan. We just saw them at the Music Box.

Do you remember when Quiet Riot and Def Leppard used to go head-to-head every Friday night and it seemed like they had the number one spot back and forth for over a year?

Or did I make that up in my head as a kid? Nobody seems to remember.

I guess this box was a little before your time, young buck. If you stuck a matchbook cover on the dial and set the dial between 19 and 20 you would get free HBO. I remember my stepfather bought a hacked box from a cable guy that got everything.
