I know I have asked this before but I can’t seem to find the thread. So the old school round up is coming and it got me thinking. My son is gonna take my step dad’s 1970’s Chenowth. He’s gonna bring it over so I can prep it. I started looking for J&J and Mazzone cars because I’m a mid engine man! I would prefer an a-arm car also. Anyways, these cars are so hard to find! I have seen a couple but are pretty beat up. I even found 2 of my old cars. Both have been garage refabed and look stupid! I would prefer to find one minus motor as I have one I can throw in. Anyone know of any or know where to look. I’ve tried the normal spots ( Here, CL, OfferUp, FB Marketplace, Race-dezert, Race Junk ).

There is a couple on st8up last page has a newer old school looking mid engine  I think the others are beam cars good luck in your search

CL, OU and FBM are your best bets for barn type finds and on cheap because their wife wants it out of the yard...

Samba of course, but be ready for the "I know what I got" crowd that wants premium pricing for their unobtainium built cars...LOL

I bet John is loving that B is showing interest in that. That is awesome!

When I saw my old car for sale it got my heart pumping! Then he says he got rid of the seats and pulled the motor. The seats were aluminum formed benches with matching interior. I was out once he said the seats were gone. The trans was the same trans so I knew it was fully built. Then he said he had the motor he would sell for extra. I asked what it was and quickly realized it wasn’t the motor I built for it so I passed. Sadly, my other car that I found I wouldn’t buy back either. It was a Hot VW cover car J&J. I saw it a few years ago and someone tried to make some kind of mid travel front end on it. So sad.

Check out Sand Car Buy n sell page on FB. Conrad Nelson is the founder. I think he's on this site as well.

Thank you. I did not see these as my search was not THAT wide!!! In general, I’m wondering where all the bad ass ones went to. The 90’s were full of some sick azz midengine cars. All custom painted aluminum work, custom matching interiors, etc. Everything you see now for sale or even running around the dunes are mostly the run of the mil cars. No flash, no bling, no show quality, just standard bolt on chrome. Not talking trash, they are still fun to drive, just wondering were the others went to.

I'm guessing the same place all of the choppers from the TV shows back in the early aughts went ?

I can’t imagine the 3” of suspension travel will do much with the whoops and chop these days. Get them out where the traffic doesn’t go, and let them rip!

Yep I saw you had this car. She is a clean one! You need to put the weight box nose cone on. Did this used to be Hanks car?
I still have the nose cone. I bought it from my father in law, who got it from a guy in HEMET. I haven’t had a chance to take it out yet… so hoping to make the next roundup

I hope too see Y'all at the Old school Roundup on MARCH 2, 2024!! I will be the guy out front with a Green Vest on directing Traffic..

If our cars are not down for service at the time of old school we may bring both cars. Maybe we can burn a little nitro
