Goal to get closer to Glamis is happening (and leaving the job I loathe).
Headed to Kingman in about 2 weeks.
Renting now but plan to buy next year. Golden Valley, Bullhead? Maybe outskirts of Kingman?
Smaller town, some tweekers and dirt road neighborhoods....
Any GD info on the area? Anyone here close?
Crazy excited to be close enough to squeeze in a summer trip before the dunes get tore up.

Stoney is across the river from Bullhead.

Got some local friends that are planning to retire there in Bullhead and it's looking like it could be an option for us in ~6 years if Havasu doesn't calm it's tits on housing prices.

I used to spend a month every summer as a kid there in Kingman. We used to walk down the creek beds and collect ammo. We were told to stay away from the big ones...😆
Reminds me of Ocotillo

Good Quail hunting around there... lots of drugs in kingman/bullhead.....and the associated issues. Lots of CA conservative peeps moving up there. Friend just built his house in kingman. Cooler than Bullhead.

Personally I would live in bullhead before kingman.. at least the river is close and the casinos are close..

You ever been to Laughlin ranch? Little hidden gem out there.

I have RE agents in bullhead and out in kingman if we can be of help.

We moved 40 miles East of Kingman when we left Havasu. Been here about a decade now.
Havasu, Laughlin and Vegas are all an easy drive. Lots of trails for off roading, and Hualapai Mountains are just minutes away for cool summer weather or snow in the winter. The revival of the downtown area has been neat to watch. Car shows, street drags, rodeos- always something going on.
Housing is reasonable compared to Havasu and Prescott. Several new tract developments in recent years but I prefer the larger lots and homes Southwest of town, towards the base of the mountain. There's also a new exit from I40 going in that will make access to that area wayyyy better.
A little further East you'll find larger, mini ranch properties with maintained roads and good I40 access. Lots of room with large shops on them etc.
Drugs are in every town, and the bad element that comes with them. Kingman is no better or worse than Bullhead in this regard. Dave's realtors can keep you out of any undesirable areas like Butler or Birdland. There's way more good to outweigh anything bad in Kingman these days.

Excellent post.

Good to hear.
We nabbed a rental down by the new Regional Medical Center. New neighborhood.
Google is always a year or so old with images but looks like some 70 riding just down the way.
Planning to buy something next year. A couple acres with a big garage is what we're looking for.

That’s a nice area. I believe that new exit will eventually tie in to service that neighborhood too. 👊

Wasn't one of your best, unfinished Repo stories from Kingman? The guy with the gate and long driveway? Now that you have changed occupations, can you share some more of those stories with us?

I really don't know. But, I bought a sliding window and a header for my Nissan PU south of Kingman. It was 1-3 exits south or Kingman, on the east side of I-40. I want to say down by where 66 takes off to the west, but not sure. It was in the desert, big lots (like at least an acre, if not 5). Everybody had a 2-3 car garage/barn and they were all custom houses....no mansions, but no 2 bedroom places (unless they had a big garage). Ohhhh, dirt roads, except for the main one, and low-water crossings.
