Curious what you all do for highway transportation if you’re at Glamis for extended trips and only have a Motorhome? How do you get to town for groceries, fuel, etc. if you don’t want to have to break camp and take the Moho? Do you just find someone else going and tag along? Do you take other transportation in a stacker or similar? Uber?

I’m looking to do 2-3 extended trips a season and was wondering how big a deal this is and what others do? My Moho setup is pretty easy so I guess I could just take that for the occasional trip to town if necessary. Maybe I’m just overthinking this and allowing my OCD to take control again🤪🤪.

You’re not over thinking it LoL
For us on extended stays one of us (me 🙋🏻‍♀️) goes back to work during the week and brings back supplies the following weekend.
Others I’ve known that do this have a separate vehicle, borrow a vehicle from someone in camp or will tag along.

Thanks! I should have mentioned I will be coming from Oregon so back/forth would be really far 😀

My old Boss was a NHRA guy, Had a big toter home and stacker had a dragster and this bad ass Prostock Vette but when he went on his yearly travel race he got a little Fiat that he could squeeze into the stacker behind the pro-stock. Just so he could go out to dinner run into town ect.

You can Uber.
When I lived on the east coast I flew into the El Centro Airport and then took an Uber to get my rig in storage.

Its nice when there is a truck in camp to borrow or others that are going to town that you can tag along with. One time we had our granddaughter and she was sick and needed something from the pharmacy, no other option but to pack up and drive the motorhome to town. Blew a belt in Little Sahara Utah, no choice but to pack up and drive to town.

I also have my Dual Sport Motorcycle in the trailer as a back up

Quit being cheap and buy another rig down there. Lol

You are more than welcome to use mine when we are there together.

Yeah, I’m not going to a longer trailer. I dropped from a 32’ enclosed to a 26’ enclosed. I’m not going back the other way. Hope the blowout didn’t cause you too much grief
No it didn’t, had a spare and put the heaviest tires I could put on the trailer a few days later.

How is Oregon with length laws? Plan oh heading up there in 2027 and we are at 74 feet or so

Oregon is same as everywhere else. 65’. Just don’t drive like a D-bag and give them a reason to pull you over and you will be fine. I’m 72’

That’s how I roll, no speeding stay on proper routes and in proper lanes. We don’t look as long with the flat bed trailer.

Bought a Harley for Idaho lol maybe that was an excuse.just show up we will deal with that when the time comes. New idea make mini stacker out of your intech bring the wife’s car
