Once upon a time (2018 ish), I noticed Caltrans started surveying and buying properties working on a project that I was excited about: finally making a connector to go from 125S to 94E without exiting at Spring St and dealing with traffic lights/surface streets.  Googling the project, I found this:

Sweet.  They bought the properties, started bringing in aggregate and a concrete plant, so surely the environmental and funding parts were completed right?  Riiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggghhhhht....?

After a little bit, I saw drill rigs and got excited.  It's happening!

Huh.  Okay, they're delayed.  It's gov't.  These things happen.

Driving by over the weekend, wife's driving through there, I'm passenger (rare occurrence).  See the idle concrete plant, aggregate, etc, just gathering dust and wonder...

Waaaaait, WHAT?!?!

This project is STILL IN MOTHERFONKING environmental, and that won't be completed until Summer 2025?  11 years to complete environmental!??!?! And this project is now split into 2 phases that will individually cost as much as the original project was estimated to cost?  How much money have we wasted on that idle plant hanging out?  How much money have we wasted in approvals labor? 

This state will crumble into the ground before it will ever finish anything these days.  This is but one of thousands of projects that are stuck in the same boat. FAAAAAAAAAAAAWK!

Sacramento has been arguing over building a much-needed reservoir for something like 30-50 years.... environmentalist have unlimited legal funding in this State and why shiat like this ^^^^ goes on.... its mindless BS!!  

 
every time I drive through there I wonder WTF they are doing.  I dont think there is every a time of day when the section from the 8 to Lemon grove (125 south transition) is not a huge ass mess...........  kind of like the 805 S from the split to mexico...........  LOL.

 
Environmental kills all projects a slow painful death...its all about generating $$ to feed the .gov machine.

We are the only saps that doesn't see they are all in it together. 

 
For folks in Los Angeles, think of the 710 connection from Monterey Park to Pasadena 210...haha...thats been 30 plus years...

My entire life (44 years next month) I've had to deal with this to go EB 94 (who knows when it started).  For a good half of it, I've had to do the same to go from WB 94 to NB 125, except that required exiting and executing 3 turns at traffic lights to accomplish.  Whoever designed that needs to be drug into the street and shot.

 
well........... back in the day no-one lived out there in the country & it was just 2 roads intersecting with a stop sign..........  who would have known???  I mean, you know, anyone with a brain would have, but politicians & urban planners??????  Nah......  LOL.

You are under the impression that the state of CA wants any of these "improvements".  You have to understand you are dealing with Liberals....they want to make life hell for everyone, because they are unhappy. NOBODY in state gov or at Caltrans wants to improve anything.... Stop dreaming and start planning to GTFO of this shithole before values completely collapse. 

 
The funding went to that high speed rail to nowhere or is part of the missing money for the homeless that no one seems to know where it went.   Where is all that money from the stupid gas tax increase that is supposed to fund roadwork?

That money was NEVER going to fund roadwork, it went to Liberal ideas that have nothing to do with moving cars faster.... 

 
San Diego is now talking about another property tax to "take care of infrastructure", AKA pay for all of the lawsuits that are getting started due to all of the flooding this winter (because they did not bother to clean out the flood channels...............)  this place is a mess.........

The stole it to pay for the street sweepers that never get deployed...

Sadly, that money was stolen to put in a $20M football field at an elementary school.  Please don't pay attention to the senator's husband winning the contract, she recused herself from contract selection.

 
Looks like they are starting construction on the 52, I’m sure they’ll fix it right this time, yeah right. What about the 8 and 67 interchange, in any direction?? I’ve said it before but it bears repeating, the primary mission at caltrans is ensuring future work for caltrans. Disgusting really.

 
well........... my wife wants things done and for some reason "me" I find lots of reasons why they cant get done in a timely fashion......

sounds about the same

I always tell my wife that she only needs to remind once every 6 months  for projects that are delayed  lol

Bro same here for about just as long, too. Every time I'm coming from that direction and everyone is trying to exit on Spring Street I always think to myself that I would go absolute bat sheet crazy if I had to exit there just to go 94E and every time I say "how hard is it to just put a F'ING bridge over to 94E?" It would eliminate a lot of backing up traffic over the 8 to 125S. Sheeeesh. I feel your pain brody. If that's you in that line of people, how are you still sane?
