WAKE UP CA residents!

Depends what part of CA you are in - avoid the coast, and live in rural areas...have a well, some land - if that's your lifestyle the cost of living is pretty similar from state to state from what I've looked at. If you want to live in a housing track - then ya, cheaper outside of CA.
This is exactly how I now look at it. Have wanted to leave CA for a few years. Unfortunately, my retirement is tied to the state and I have too many years invested to mess that up. Retirement will be somewhere rural/small town (state TBD) where I don't have to deal with all the fucktards that are everywhere.

Yep. Especially when you compare commute distances with land. I’m 21 miles from work or downtown with 3 acres.

Lots of friends moved out to the sticks in other states and went the remote/work from home route. They’re all sweating their asses off at work now. One fuckup, or the company goes TU, or gets bought, or whatever and you’re out. Hopefully the WalMart has good benefits, because that’s all you’re gonna get.

I read an article that made me think about how much California has grown since I was a kid. We were the land of milk and honey, we were the place that everyone wanted to go to. And you know what? They did.
People from other states seek the freedoms only a State like Cali can provide.
It attracts all freaks, unfortunately
So you're welcome for taking all your deviants and freakshows from your state..

California is soo Beautiful / I never thought Id consider leaving....Now, I wanna move to Idaho.....wife wants to stay....Its tough because San Diego is such a cool place but the Dems have reall affected the living conditions soo much....Its really sad to watch it detoriate

In the summer, I'm moving my family to Idaho (North West Meridian). We are keeping our CA house as a rental. We live in a nice area of OC, but I'm over all the bums creeping in (parks, beaches, streets). Also, over CA politics and schooling... I'm paying $2,400 a month just for my kids' schooling right now, too. Love the weather, we have a ton of friends/family, but I see a better future for my kids elsewhere.

I left California back in 2000. Moved to Alaska for 5 years, then Oregon for 5, up to Washington State for the next 5 years and now back in Oregon and been here 7 years now. The only thing I miss about California is the weather and that isn’t remotely enough to make me even consider going back. Oregon isn’t great but it’s a far cry from Cali. We live semi-rural and it’s nice. Like others have said, every state has to get their revenue somewhere. Some take more than others and then depends on your situation. Do your homework before you move anywhere.
