Trailer prices Cali vs AZ

Have you looked into trailers in New Mexico or Texas ?  Last year they were cheaper than CA, NV or AZ

Also in CA you need a CDL to tow a dump trailer with a 10k GVWR and above. Is AZ similar ?
So if I tow an empty dump trailer home to AZ I would need a CDL?

I don't see a comparable trailer being built cheaper in Ca. verses Az. There has to be somewhere they are cutting corners. Even the smaller ram doesn't make sense. What would wholesale difference on that be? $10?

Talked to the AZ trailer guy again and he said the manufacturer is quoting 2600 lbs empty weight. CA trailer is 3200. No way that is correct. They are very close to each other.  AZ trailer does NOT come with the ramps at the 8575 price. It is 9075 with the bobcat ramps. Don't really need them anyway. We could order one without the tarp but it is only $350 so not worth leaving it off. He thinks the Stellar ram is smaller from looking at the pics. His is a 12,000lb ram. I need to run by and look at this trailer.

Steller has 134 reviews with 4.6 out of 5 but this one concerned me a little bit.
from what I see these days, they are ALL gonna have issues, just depends on what pops up, unless custom built. My buddy has one, it sure seems cheaply made, but its held up for what I or others that borrow it have needed to use it for. I'm sure they have to keep the metal thin to keep weight down. His has a very thin floor, at least in my mind, the floor should be the thickest part, if you were hauling dirt or concrete every day I don't think it would hold up.

I'd research what thickness the floors are etc. side walls are probably all the same, just something to "hold it in". The price has sure gone up, my buddy gave 4k brand new here in okla before covid hit. We use it more than he does lol.

I was very pleased with my PJ gooseneck, but I think at this point, quality-wise, Diamond C is probably about the best right now. If you are into traveling, try The Trailer Store in Winnemucca, NV.

Go look at the one in Az. As much as you will use it and what you're putting into it you should be fine.  Now if you were going to be loading and unloading a Bobcat every day and hauling broken concrete and dirt all the time. You would buy something more  "professional grade" any way.

Worst case scenario you buy the trailer in that bad review.  You will end up fixing all the issues yourself on either trailer you buy and by the time you go to sell the thing it will be more "professional grade"

At least go look at it in person on the local one.

I would be looking for the best quality dump trailer your budget allows more than where to buy it from. This is especially critical with dump trailers. Look at the gauge of the material used in the floor. You want the thickest material you can afford. The hydraulic dump mechanism is also another critical component. Some of those scissor lifts can be a big problem if you fill the trailer anywhere near capacity. Given the attachment locations the trailer can want to rack side to side when unloading if you get weight up high and off balance at all.

Did you try Texas Pride trailers of Arizona?  IF you do a search through the main TP site, they show you can pick up a 7k unit for under $8k in AJ..

Went and looked at the AZ trailer that Dean sells. He sells from his home and has very low overhead. Certainly the best price for AZ. I do like the 6 lug wheels and D range tires. We would never load this thing even near capacity. Trailer is not perfect but we don't need a $12k trailer either. Now I am just debating on waiting or buying now. I believe this economy will go into the crapper in the near future. Then how cheap is stuff to buy. We can pickup this pile and wait until next year if needed.  We also need to buy one of these bad boys. 58ccs. They have a beast that goes up to 79ccs. Hmmm.

Wonder if one of these would make the task easier?
Interesting. The hard part is the tall mountain grass we have to rake through. It is very hard work. Would not want to rip that up. Found this video earlier. This is last years model of the 79cc blower. Thinking this could help us not to rake anymore.  At around 8 minutes he is pushing a decent pile of pine needles along the ground. For us it will be harder due to the grass catching the needles.

This will give you an idea what we are dealing with. That grass is tall and grabs the pine needles. You have to rake many times to pull them through. That backyard area is really the only big open area. The rest is heavy with trees and lots of needles. We try to clean it up at least 40' from both structures.

We have a place near you at Happy Jack. We bought a 10' dump trailer from Jacksons about 3 years ago. Couldn't be happier. Only sees pine needles and tree branches. We love it.
