Tell me about your great PHX neighborhood

Yea the area you are in is building fast.  I am doing a project right behind your shop ( I know this because when I googled the address I saw your building) and it seems each and every time I drive to the house I have to take a different street in and another road out.  It is a nice area though., they are in that big custom home area between the school with the fancy architecture and the railroad tracks.  Great layout of the house he is selling it too.
who lives there?^^^^^

My one advice with fast growing cities is to try and imagine what it is going to be like in 15 years.  A lot of these little communities/developments change a lot in a short amount time.

Lots of great areas in the Phoenix area.

Spent the last two evenings scouting the East side. Tried to look at this one but couldn’t get past the gates.

Also headed out @Kat-A-Tonic’s way to look around. Found a couple neighborhoods that would be perfect, there isn’t much available that I could find.

Going to head north at west this weekend to look around more- @77charger what cross streets are you near?

We live in Goodyear, the city is nice overall, newer neighborhoods and the city council does a lot for the community. Mostly HOA but where we live, but a few miles south of I-10 down Estrella Parkway there isn't.  We're a culdesac home now but we want more property so we've bought a parcel in Wittmann and will be building pretty soon. Lots of nice areas in the valley, almost too hard to pick one to live. Some are $$ while others are even more $$$.

Guessing your neighbors are going to be older and leave every year when it starts to get warm.

I’m near 83rd and thunderbird. But like said drive different areas see what you like and what works.we spent some weekends driving around. Seen houses we liked but didn’t care for area needed something with a big side yard or 2 useable side yards one for trailer and one for boat.

In the Phoenix area in general, the newer homes for the most part are on smaller lots. Older homes tend to have bigger lots and no HOA. My neighborhood is larger lots and a variety of sq foot on the homes. I have 2 RV gates, one on each side. The RV pad will hold 2 RV's and 2 trailers, the other gate leads to the shop in the back. Neighbor has the same set up as well. Problem is the neighborhood is a diamond, the surrounding area not so much. The neighborhood only has 2 streets into the subdivision and the neighborhood is a very tight nit community. I bet half the neighborhood are families with stay at home moms so anybody that doesn't belong in the neighborhood quickly gets reported to the police. I've been here 30 years, most homes are sold the last few years were sold through word of mouth, most of them were never listed on MLS. The schools for the neighborhood aren't very good so most of the kids go to charter schools. I guess people see the value in the neighborhood even though it isn't in the best area of Mesa.

@77charger Thank you. I also need side yard access on at least one side for a small trailer. Don’t have to have RV size storage, but need more than a walk through.

@1tonfun which neighborhood are you in? I’d like to check it out, even if there aren’t any rentals currently available.

Mission accomplished. We found a place in Peoria that we like and signed a lease today. Now the fun begins, packing up the house for a cross country haul. If all goes as planned we’ll be moved in Oct 21st

Thank you to everyone that shared your thoughts and advise. It definitely helped

Welcome to Peoria, lived in Az all my life, Peoria for the last 29
