Dropped my TH with the RZR in it in a few months back. Rick's RV was fixing the propane system for the fridge when a fire broke out, total loss. Initially insurance offered me $25k for the RZR and $12k for the TH.

Submited my pile of receipts and disputed the payment amouns and now I am getting $40k for the RZR and $17k for the TH.

All in all they did right by me.

Congrats.

Lesson here is have good insurance and keep all paperwork, receipts.

What's next? Take break and eventually get a LS Sand Car?

That's exactly the plan, but I've promised the bride that I'd off my remaining SXS and toy box, before spending on an LS Sand Car and a motorhome. Market is soft, only offer on my SXS was some crappy land in the desert. .. outskirts of Palmdale... I passed.

That's gotta be a big load off your shoulders.

Time to shop!

I took the first offer ended in Divorce. Took the second offer, same! Took the 3rd offer. HUGE difference! Congrats ABC. Peace

Isn’t this the sxs you had for sale @$29k ? Sounds like you made out !

For sure... my agent is the one that got me the extra dough... pretty big difference $37k vs. $67k.. lesson learned, don't take the first offer.
I think you got the extra dough.....but providing them with support for the increased value. With claims it's all about what you can support paying on the claim.  Glad it worked out for you.

30 years in the collision repair industry and I feel State Farm was one of the best to deal with. Just show them documentation, be honest and fair and your good.  They earned all my insurance business.

Glad it worked out for you.  But isn't the shop (or their insurance) liable, since they were working on the system that caused the fire?

you can guarantee state farm will enter subrogation to try and recoup as much as they can from the shop or the shops insurance.  Also, a lot of these shops run business without the proper insurance in place.

I'm pretty sure State Farm will pursue the shop as I believe they caused the fire. I just dealt with my insurance so I'm not 100% sure on that.

like a good neighbor state farm is there!

my buddy flipped end over end 3 times on his, state farm paid out no questions asked, just drop it off where you want and let us know how much.
