Starlink Questions

It’s been working great for the last two days. Uses much less power too. Instead of the battery bank running the inverter then powering the 110v Starlink router. The whole kit with upgraded router is much better.

I added a switch so I can turn it off and on while keeping all the equipment behind the cabinets.
Does the dish require power also or just the router?

I Need to make this purchase in the next few day for the RV. Gen 2 or 3 in Glamis

LMK

Thanks in advance.

Music requires considerably less bandwidth but Starlink has plenty for both. I had to use it for a work trip a few months back and we have 17 devices connected; it provided everyone with enough to do what they needed (and half of them were watching youtube).

Edit: there is no good reason to buy a gen 2.

I second what Weazy said. No good reason to buy Gen2. At release, I wasn't sold on the value of upgrading from 2 to 3 but with the DC adapters and standard network cable I am considering it.

On second though, hell yea... get the gen 2... I have one fore sale :ROFLMAO:

Looking to add starlink to my dune setup. Anyone using starlink? Is there a downside to the mini? I’d like to use a portable one like on a tripod since we do camp in the Oregon dunes also with lots of tree. Any help would be appreciated.
Clay, I can send @Rallyalleigh your contact and she can get you set up with the Starlink from PCI. I'm getting one for myself as well.

We are currently waiting on approval from River Dave to be able to promote so hopefully I don't get in too much trouble but I didn't want to waste the opportunity and hopefully he will forgive me HAHA.

PCI Race radios sells Starlink products and we are a dealer for them....

If you have any questions or would like me... as your friend... to help you place an order on their website. Let me know ;)

I appreciate it but I jumped on their 299 sale.

I was looking at the $50 month plan. 50GB .
Will I burn 50gb in a month using starlink 25-20 days a month.

Depends on what you want to do with it. 50gb doesn't last long if you're streaming video. I don't use my cell phone for much (never watch videos) but stream music from it while I'm in the car (along with typical Android Auto features) and burn through 40gb easily (and I don't drive much).

What app do you use to steam music?

I personally use Spotify to create playlist or find playlist that I like and you can download them to be used offline, when you have no service, or in this case, dont want to use up allotted GB for hot spots or starlink plans.

Pandora (which also has an offline capability) and Iheart Radio mostly

I was on the unlimited roam plan last season. I paused the plan at the end of the season (great feature). I just turned it back on and did the 50GB plan. Worst case, if I use too much, I can change the plan to the unlimited. On the 50GB plan, you can set it up to allow you to go above 50GB for $1 per GB. So the unlimited plan is only going to pay off if you use at least 165GB. That said, when I turned my system back on this weekend, I burned through 2GB just running some updates and testing stuff. We use ours to stream video through a Roku to the TV also, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to move back to unlimited.
