Someone is having a bad day at vendors

What is going on lately with these things going up in smoke???
Seen more this year than it seems in the past.
Is it just neglect, incompetence, bad luck, doing dumb shit and dumb shit happens, Lightning strike...seriously WTF????
I hope everyone is safe.
I don't know why but this reminded me of something I recently learned in one of my groups. All these cheap ass batteries that we buy from China that come in various electrical devices including flashlights, have the ability to just go proof in the night and burn your house down. One of the members said the investigator traced it to a cheap Chinese flashlight. I've gone around my entire house and collected everything that has lithium batteries and have started to store them in fireproof areas or containers. The better ones have protection but the vast majority are ticking time bombs as they degrade.

This sucks, but also the chance you take when you leave your stuff out there all season. There is no other place I can think of on Public lands that you would leave $100k plus rigs parked without security of some sort for 5 months a year. Sorry for being harsh.
Totally agree. My shits not even worth that much and I won’t take the chance.

Or they are just getting old?

Mine is held together by duct tape and zip ties these days! 😁

Biggest issue setting them on fire is overcharging. Never charge them unattended.

Second biggest issue is physical damage.

There was a Pro R 4 and sand car in 2 of the rigs....just a pile of metal and ashes now.

Really sucks, but this is the risk of rigs left alone and left charging....

100%, I have seen two houses burn down due to battery charging, one was a Super 73 battery catching fire and the other was a golf cart. I never leave my Golf Cart plugged in if I am not around. These Lithium batteries are a bit more sensitive to charging and you need to take precautions. For the RC batteries, were told to charge in a fireproof bag to eliminate fires.

I wonder if those trailers were all powered up (fridge on). I think I would shut everything off as a precaution if unattended??

I saw a post on IG where a guy was dragging a large trailer loaded with solar panels way from the engulfed rigs. Guessing they were plugged into it.

^^^^^ I think there is another solar trailer under all the smoke as well. These panels are charging batteries on the solar trailer, to power big lights at night. I saw a pic of them all lite up at night.

They could have been all plugged into those trailers as well, full hook ups at wash 6 ;)
