Wise man once said...

The worst day boating is better than the best day working.
I believe it was the same guy who said the two happiest days of a boat owners' life are the day he buys a boat and the day he sells it. It was also his wife who created the acronym Break Out another Thousand

No doubt, some situations can play out that way.

Mine, not so much. I'll be crushed when I sell my sled.

Lots of homework is required if you're gonna get into boating. Jumping in cause it LOOKS fun, is a sure fire recipe for disaster! 😜

I have always found that to be not true.. I go through a lot of boats and I always hate selling them. Each one has a specific purpose…. My question to find the boat that does everything has never ended well.

Currently have a 335 Hallett with twin 710 Ilmors.. I’ll sell it before the season and I think I’m gonna downsize to a 24 Schiada

How fast something like that go?

Motors were brand new so I didn’t run it that hard to find out.. it runs 60 mph at 4K though so if I had to guess upper 70’s maybe low 80’s at WOT..

Dans old boat was 4’ longer and had 700’s but with NXT drives which is more of a surfacing style drive and would run right around a 100.

Setups can make huge differences in boats though.. my latest boat has SCX drives which have large lower units…. It will run low 80’s with 710’s (1400 hp). Others run stand off boxes with an SCX upper and a SC lower with roughly the same hp are running over 100.. I didn’t build the boat I just got it that way.. for my case it isn’t worth spending 50-60k for something I’m going to rarely do, or for a boat that I’m probably going to sell this season. (We change boats a lot).

Todays job was to go film and get a feel for the new M42 for an upcoming article on rdp.

It honestly doesn’t get anymore refined then what they have accomplished with this new model.. it does everything superbly.
