So who are the builders of Sandcars now?

Russ sold BFD to one of the guys that worked there about 5 years ago I think. He tried to make a go of it and looked to be doing OK for a few years. Latest I've heard from people that tried to do business there in the last year or so was the guy pretty much went MIA. I sold a BFD to a guy last year that wanted to build a new one. Couldn't get much response from BFD. He even bought some swag from them that never showed and not sure if he ever got his money back for the stuff he ordered. I think others have done business there recently. IDK - maybe you have to have the secret bat phone to talk to them?
They were at the sand show just a few years ago. I tried to talk with them as their new stuff looked pretty nice. I guess I wasn’t cool enough because they just laughed at me and wouldn’t give me the time of day. I decided right there I wouldn’t ever buy a BFD or do business with them.
Even if I do dress like a nerd and have tape on my glasses, you can still talk to me about your product.
Or not.

Ross Mattox (Mattox Racing) purchased one of the Mason Motorsports cars and is reproducing them. He purchased the design, jigs, and etc.

I heard just recently that he ripped off a customer for a ton of money that was supposed to be going towards building a car for him. Definitely steer clear of bfd!

Glad i wasnt the only one with the same experience. I know exactly what sand show you were talking about.

I asked them where a friend of mines car was because it was supposed to be in their booth. He gave me a weird look and walked away. Thought it was strange but i guess thats their deal.

I didn't see them mentioned....Off-Road Buggy in Yuma

There was just a thread yesterday asking about BFD on a FB page. The owner of BFD, Stephen posted to that thread. He said he had to close shop and shut down. But he also mentioned he plans to reopen in another location with a partner that is an existing shop/builder. Will be interesting to see who that is.

The thread is on this page if interested: https://www.facebook.com/groups/240203414381493
