Silicon Valley Bank, has it affected you?

I had $187k in Indimac bank when it died in ‘08, in a CD earning 5.6%. Didn’t stress cause the wife and I were both on the account. Back then coverage was 100k per depositor.

FDIC made us whole and even paid the interest.. just took a while to get it.

PS. I’m only affected now by the stock market drop, but I’m in for the long game. Side note.. I bailed on the stock market in 2012 once my accouns were 'level' with what I had put in and was out for almost a decade. I lost a HUGE amount of gains. .. millions. Wish I had listened to my old man, but I let the fear get me. .. so now I'm long and won't touch it. .. if anything.. I'll keep adding more. .. had I not pulled out, I would have already retired.. still might in a couple of years.

The Fed f'd this up, but the only people "hurt" will be the tax payers...as usual...This is the new normal. It truly is Us vs Them now....the elites are doing whatever the hell they want and we are just taking it... Open borders, no problem, Apartments in your neighborhood, no problem.... Suck it you peasants....

Aside from most people watching my 401k and 456 retirement accounts bounce a little I wasn't affected by SVB. So I thought.

My son, who works for me full time, said he didn't get a paycheck on 3/17. Checked Patriot Software and it showed he had been paid. Checked my emails and saw one showing the payroll tax deductions pulled from my account. Checked my business bank account and saw the taxes pulled but not the actual pay. I called Patriot and they said I paid him during the 4 day freeze period. What freeze period? The guy was really nice and said they had to shut down direct deposits because of SVB from 3/10 to 3/14. I did payroll on 3/14. I should have been notified but I wasn't. No big deal, they pulled the taxes and I can just write him a check.

Kind of annoying but a simple resolution.
