I thought it might be cool to see/hear some stuff from your matches. Pistol, bullseye, precision rifle, shotgun, 2 gun, 3 gun, 17 gun, whatever you shoot. this thread is intended for competitions, not really just range days (Unless you are prepping for a match).

Most folks film their matches for self evaluation/Social Media Flexing. I wasn't putting anything online until a family member asked & its just easier to show them than try to explain....... LOL.

on 22Mar26, I participated in a USPSA match @ the shooting range @ Pala. they have a very nice range, that has precision rifle, small steel only handgun, and a whole mess of bays that they hold practical pistol shooting matches.
this has been my first match since the end of November of last year. took some time off for focusing on physical fitness conditioning. I still have a good ways to go for that, but it was nice to dedicate time to it. I had 4 good stages, 2 OK stages & 1 where the wheels came right off of the wagon. In the video i clipped out all of the choice words @ the end of the stage. that was 100% mental mistake which snowballed. LOL.

This is the first time I have used the hat cam so I hosed up a couple of them. I need to figure out how to put that video next to the 360 Video from behind the stage. FWIW, I started the day on stage 6, then ended on stage 5. fortunately it was only 88* @ 2PM, so it was not SUPER hot. My conditioning is still not where it needs to be to keep up with these young kids.

Hope the video is @ least a little entertaining.

Next weekend I'm going to get to try a steel match. Haven't shot one of those yet. This is at pala as well..

This is gonna be interesting.... don't get points for a near miss... all or nuffin...

I shot a steel only match with my club at pala. I met @punkur67 at the match it was super cool to shoot with him again. I got a couple of his stages on film. They are at the end of yhe video.

This is the first steel match I've shot. It was a different kind of fun. All precision which made it feel slow, but rewarding to hear that ding.

I did better this match than last. The goal is to keep improving and to get in better shape. 6 hours standing in the sun takes it out of the old body.

It was great to hang out and shoot with you!

I shot another Match @ Pala this weekend with LdF. Match went OK. My focus this weekend was Stage planning. My hit factor was not great, but my stage planning was much better than it has been. I ended up in the middle of the pack again. I really messed up on 2 stages. one I got on Video, you wont be able to miss it. LOL. Im glad the weather somewhat cooperated. they were staying 92/93, when I left @ 2:00 it was only 88. Next match in 2 weeks.

Yesterday's match didn't go as I had hoped. I kept shooting faster than my eyes were moving. Also, I had 3 gun issues which is uncommon. If there are issues I tend to just stop because I want to know what's wrong and not try to force it to work.

It was though a beautiful day. The sun was not blazing and right on time the breeze picked up at 1230.

Next weekend is a steel match, which is fun, but demands precision. Cant outrun the headlights on steel, results will suck.

Last weekend I shot another steel match. I had some issues with my mags, the slide stop broke again, and the eyes were just not working well...

Shot another USPSA Match yesterday. one of the guys from work came & shot with me, it was his first match. I had no issues with the gun, so hopefully Im past all of that non-sense. The main focus of this match was to just shoot the match, and to watch my co-worker and make sure he didn't do anything dumb. He did great for his first match. I was 47 out of 110 shooters. and hit factors all in mid 4's & above.

Hi everyone,

Last weekend, I attended a Total Archery Challenge (TAC) event in Brian Head, Utah, with my wife and a few friends. I’ve been traveling to TAC events around the country with my buddies for the past few years, and they’re always a great time.

I currently shoot a Hoyt Torrex XT compound bow set at 65 pounds. Archery has become a really fun hobby over the years. It’s relaxing to get outside, slow things down, and spend the day shooting.

This was my wife’s first TAC event. She has a beginner bow but is progressing quickly and had a great time on the mountain.

For anyone unfamiliar with TAC, the events are typically held at ski resorts. You take a chairlift to the top of the mountain and hike down while shooting at 3D targets placed at different distances and angles. Most events have around five courses, and we normally shoot one course per day over three days. The targets at Brian Head ranged from approximately 35 to 110 yards.

After finishing a course, we usually check out the vendors, grab some food and drinks, and hang out with everyone. The archery community at these events is a big part of what makes them so enjoyable.

The elevation really kicked my butt this year. We went from essentially sea level to around 10,000 feet, and I definitely felt it while hiking the courses!

Here are a few pictures and videos from the event. If anyone is in the San Diego area and wants to meet up and shoot one weekend, let me know. It would be great to connect with some local archers.
