San Diego Follows San Francisco...

I swear that there is decent $ $  to be made ifin one could just export classic So Cal Mexican cuisine to other locales.  Given immigration patterns, one would think it would happen in every town in the land, but I digress . . .
I'm in a couple foodie groups on Facebook and in other states they like their Mexican food just the way it is. They think that some of the Tijuana style Mexican is bad. They would prefer ground beef over carne asada it would appear..

TexMex..🤢

Same here in Knox.  Only a single mariscos place within 121 miles.
Enjoy yore 1000 different versions of the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich  :chickie:

I used to travel a bunch & have given this entirely too much thought.  I think the biggest issue with making good locally made Mexican is they cant get the good quality ingredients, in Iowa, or Tennessee or NY.  same reason you cant really get a good Philly cheese steak in San Diego...... its all about the bread.
Yeah, I get it.  Nobody does pizza like NYC because of the water etc.   Sh1t, Iowa can't even get a decent pizza place (ever been to Pizza Ranch?).  But since a lot of the labor for cattle processing in Iowa comes from illegals in the state, you would think someone would moonlight and have a cool taco stand somewhere, I've just never seen it .  . .

I would venture a bet that they do have them. Just not open to the public.

Yeah, ends up costing a fortune since you have to make everything from scratch.

Philly cheese steaks: tried Gaglione Bros?
