they sound like a good idea, but i have never come across a need for one. We even pulled the front corner off a car and strapped down the opposite side shock and drove a car out of the dunes. There is always someone with a cooler you can rob the top off of or drag the car backwards.

I could of used one twice Vets weekend.. I was looking into them but out of my price range currently

We sell them and the reports coming back have been good, but they do wear out - I hear they are good for 4 or 5 times depending on the distance
the idea is great and saves a lot of parts from worse damage and hours of time
I like that they are light and easy to store -one person per group should have one IMO especially if they are SxS's
"back in the day" like 5 years ago I broke an arm on my sand car and we went back to camp and grabbed the snow shovel we used for dosing the fire and put it under the arm - poked a couple holes and strapped it down - worked just like the safe sled - back then shovels were cheap - not any more :-(
By The Way The owner of SS is really nice guy with a touching story and he funded this himself - he tries very hard to do the right thing - not easy to find anymore ...

If you wipe out a rear corner, esp on a buggy, it’s essential if you want to avoid the Sno Cat. We got @Deviantduner out with a Max Traxx strapped to the arm in similar fashion. Max Traxx was destroyed by the time we got back to camp.

Used one last season on front of a 4 seat, SU car for about a mile. Wore a 3" hole in in bottom. Last heard they would be replacing it under warranty.

I have been considering getting one of these or making something similar. I'd expect these to wear out and only last for a few uses, which is fine, but 1 mile probably doesn't get me back to camp. I'm still on the fence about it. Maybe I'll buy it so my wife can to give it to me for Christmas.

I like this! I could make something similar at home that would probably get the job done. I have a rack behind my seats where I strap in my tool bags. This could go right onto my rack and the tool bags on top of this.

Word. More spares you carry, the more likely you’ll need them…Yes, but I have a 2 seat buggy that used to be a 2+2, so I have a lot of room behind the seats. I carry a lot of tools and parts.

Luck says that if you DON’T take it with you, you’ll need that exact part.

No, the way it works is you'll only need the part you are not carrying. I carry all possible spare parts, therefore I will not need any.

so my daughter is 19, and jumps in her car with some girlfriends to go to some beach in texas, tells me nothing about it, i find out and i'm like we needed an oil change, we needed to replace the belt, shoulda checked air pressure, and on and on. no problems.No, the way it works is you'll only need the part you are not carrying. Now me on the other hand, would have packed every tool i own, done all the above and still had a damn issue 200 miles away! some peoples luck lol!

So I've been tinkering with making my own sled as a diversion from my buggy frustrations. This is 1/4" aluminum. Multiple holes allow for positioning the tie down brackets as needed to fit the situation. It comes in at about 9 lbs. I sized it to fit in my buggy, but I'll likely just leave it at camp. Maybe just bolt it to my trailer for one less thing to load and unload.
