I don't think Dusty was on the tour. Guess he had hip and shoulder surgery and his rehabilitation was not going well and had to do with his passing.I was shocked to hear that he passed way. Passed in his sleep. Great way to go! But these guys were still kicking and playing music.
They just started their summer tour a week or so ago. Looking at the schedule it looks like they were playing this weekend . Plus while Billy was doing his solo album this last year, Dusty & Frank were writing the new ZZ Top album. Would be cool if Dusty had laid some tracks down that maybe they could release a song or two as a tribute to Dusty and call it done.
Pretty well said and so true.I don't think Dusty was on the tour. Guess he had hip and shoulder surgery and his rehabilitation was not going well and had to do with his passing.
The greatest musicians of a generation are now in their 70's or older. There will not be another generation like them. There might be better players technically but that generation were the ones who wrote the play book on how to do it and came up with great original songs. If you get a chance watch the Rick Rubin and Paul Mac special on Hulu. It is a music version of talking to your grandfather about what he did in WW2. Glad the two of them made the documentary/ interview. Hope Rick Rubin continues to speak to others from that great generation.
and now his watch is ended we shall never see his like again...
^ ^ ^ This. Also, I'm not "Mr. Podcast Guy", but there are are few I listen to / watch on the regular. Rick Rubin's is outstanding . . .I don't think Dusty was on the tour. Guess he had hip and shoulder surgery and his rehabilitation was not going well and had to do with his passing.
