The family and I had a week in Glamis. Good times 86+ gallons of fuel, and smiles by the miles. The Funco did awesome as well. Mama's new RZR did its job. 2 quads burned a tank of gas. Not bad but damn it is taking me 4 days to somewhat recover. No big drinking days or nights. was in bed before midnight most nights. I must just be getting old....

How long does it take you to recover from these trips.

If you have motor Issues all season LOL, glad everything is running good,

I was exhausted after this last New Years trip.  60 gallons burned through SxSs and 4-bangers...  Dunes were rough, which didn't help, and stayed up past 1AM most nights.

Did a week and burned through 70 gallons of fuel in the SXS.  Maybe 2 gallons of fuel in the quad.   We came home early New Year's day and cleaned everything.  Monday was rest day and I was good.

Only did one quad ride so maybe that is why I was not tired.

I go to bed by 10pm most nights in the dunes now, I call myself Solar Powered.  I see no reason to stay up late anymore, night rides are in my past.  I also ask my kids to help more as well..............it is making my life easier for sure.  I sleep 8-10 hours every night in the dunes, can't go multiple nights anymore getting 6-7 hours of sleep.

It’s alot of work to get everything ready to get out there. It’s super fun out there, but packing back up, getting home, unpacking and cleaning everything and putting it all way plus laundry etc… it’s a lot of freakin money and work. A 5 day trip to Cabo is way cheaper and easier and is needed after my trip to glamis. …But no where as fun.

if you’re referring to your body recovering, that’s easy, you’re getting old. I feel the same. My car wasn’t back up before the trip so I rode the bikes and man I was sore. Had one night out there where I had too much fun with my buddies by the camp fire and that took a lot longer than it used to recover from as well. Gettin old is the pits. But it’s still fun.

It's getting back to reality and being motivated to go back to work that takes time for me...2 days or so. Not having to worry about what time it is, when to get up, and the only thing you worry about is when to ride, eat, and when to make a fire - makes coming back to reality difficult.

For me, leaving my toy box and TH in Glamis has been key. Don’t like towing the rigs back n forth.

Makes recovery a lot easier as we only have to clear the truck bed of empty gas cans and 1 cooler of any food we bring home, dirty laundry/towels.

I keep buying more gas cans. Think I have 14. The turbo SXS chew a bit more gas if you ‘hot peddle it.’

Staying up late for us is 10pm.  My camp is also up at 5am and drinking by 6.

I remember one Golf Tourney weekend.  Me and the dudes said F it and clocked out at sunset.  That was the night we faked asleep while Cheff and Ronnie came by camp and drank beers by our fire.

No doubt about it. Every year it gets a bit harder on the body.

On the two week trips I've recently discovered how much taking a night off drinking helps. I'm also starting to really appreciate going to bed early the night before coming home. Makes packing up so much less of a chore. Beat up rained on dunes do not help either.

Age is real....catches up to all of us....storing the 5th wheel at Dunes Edge is really nice...makes the drive home less stressful. We don't do night rides and a nice hot shower before bed makes all the difference for myself.

No recovery time necessary for me. 7 days in Glamis, drive home around 10 am on the last day, back at work at 10 pm that night. I don't generally stay up late and I'm usually in bed 9-10 pm. Stayed up till midnight for NYE with my kids and their friends and I was in bed by 12:05 am. I get the best sleep in my RV. Way better than when I'm at home. I'm much more physically active in Glamis, standing around for hours at Swing Set, Olds, etc and walking camp to camp around Roadrunner. Or maybe it's all the vodka.
