RC-10 Damn I feel Old,

My first RC was the Honda 250r. Next was the General Lee. Then for Christmas one year my dad bought me a Hornet. Then years later I got the RC-10. The best part about the last two were spending nights with my dad at the kitchen table putting them together. I got out of it as I got older. Then my son was old enough to get one so right back in we went! Still have a couple cars left but don’t use them much anymore.

RC10 Classic 40 Year Anniversary Kit (associatedelectrics.com)

My wallet says this thread brings back some memories! I was raised somewhat in the country. Plenty of property and plenty of chores that over the years of Jr. High through high school, produced the money needed to play in this hobby. I started with a midnight pumpkin that was the fastest thing I had ever seen, till I saw a frog car. I busted that midnight pumpkin so many times I was on a first name basis at the hobby shop (Busy Bee). I bought an RC10 team car w/ aluminum chassis, then stepped up to a Losi JRXT, the first production RC stadium truck. Then an RC10T with graphite chassis. Stock motors, 11 turns, then a trinity monster horsepower in a 6 turn configuration. I absolutely miss racing with friends, the magazines and newest trick setup coming out. I tried a nitro T-maxx. It had 2 speeds and freakin reverse! Bought a nitro USA-1 but never finished it. That was the end of my RC and the beginning of an even more expensive hobby, with the purchase of a brand new 97 banshee.

Insane,  now i want this !!!!!!! wonder who did the arms

This would be even cooler as a electric,  who is going to make this in a tesla version

Novak or Tekin…?  :classic_ninja:
RC-10 with a Novak got you into the top 5 over the rheostat arm controller,  but if you wanted to place in the top 3 then it was a JRX-2 with a Tekin,

My first RC was a Futaba FX10 then I upgraded to an RC10 and it blew my mind!

I now have a Traxxas XRT and man those things are pricey but dude, they are INSANE!! Almost impossible to break and it’s a 30lb beast that goes way too fast!

I use to joke about how my rc car hobby cost more than my old VW sand rail hobby. It wasn’t’t a joke. Then I learned to fly an airplane, only had to fix it (replace it) 3 times. It was nicer going and flying a ton of times and just 100% fun.  Got out of it before electric really took over.

I would like to find one of these new tiny cars that I can drift around my desk at work tho!!

For me, it’s a revolving money pit! Just when I think I’m out I get pulled right back in with new up and coming nieces and nephews!  This time I actually kept a couple so I don’t have to buy cars again when the yo yo comes back! This had me in the garage seeing what I have left and started some work. Right now I’m going through a carb clean on the Baja 5T. I also need to buy a couple new batteries and a charger for the Losi Super Baja Rey. No small cars left in the stable for me.
