A few weeks ago I took a 2 day class in casa grande AZ with practical Shooting Training Group. This class was lead by Ben Stoeger, Joel Park and Hwansik Kim. All 3 of them are Grand Masters and have been around for quite some time.

It's been 3 weeks since the class and somone asked me the other day, "give me one thing you took away from the class". I could not think of a single thing. Still cant....

Sure we ran some drills, and sure they told me things like, focus on a small spot, next time wait for the dot to be on target before sending the round, make sure you are stable before engaging the target..... but... the guys I shoot with can tell me that. And the video I take tells me that...

one thing that struck me the most is that they can't stop preaching the benefits of dryfire practice and how ALL of the real gains are done in dryfire training, and live fire is for testing your training. Well..... other than trying to sell a book or two... not one mention of dryfire. Even after I asked a few times.... still nothing. When I mentioned how how useful it would be i got "I will bring it up next time we talk".

If I had flown from another state to take this class I would have been very disappointed. It seemed to me that the main priority was cashing checks. The only one who seemed to give a shit was Hwansik. He was pretty cool and seemed to care if folks got anything from the class.

Definitely would NOT recommend.

On the plus side I got to see the old Dune Crew. It was awesome to see those boys again. I really miss the dune weekends sometimes.
