Projects around the shop

Very cool late 60s Impala convertible with 427 factory tri-power. Fuel system issues. Getting carbureted cars to run in the Arizona heat is always fun.

This would make me nuts.....................  brand new, bitchen a.s.s motor, but crusty old engine bay.  my head would virtually implode...
Every customer is going to have a different level they need to be at. To detail an engine bay correctly and deal with other issues can easily be 10 hours of Labor.

what kind of special things are in the LPE motor?

which EFI does it have in it?
Back when lingenfelter built that motor it was special 421 cubic inch small block. Special block and heads. Back in the day they did something special to make the factory computer work. I believe burning a chip of some sort.Nowadays you would not do it that way. You would just do an aftermarket standalone system to run it. Everything got put back to the way it was when this project was done. Even ordering the special cam from lingenfelter.

Early Nova with a small block. We built the motor and it is in for its thousand Mile checkup.

29 Ford with a small block. I think this car is cool. I would drive one. Issues with the sniper fuel injection which is not uncommon.

73 Challenger. We did a lot to this car including the motor and k member front suspension change over. Completely rewired it among other things. The k-member came later so we had to custom build a motor mount on one side to not have to cut the headers apart. This car was all done running and on the dyno and there was a factory crack or flaw in the automatic transmission. It exploded on the dyno so it had all come back apart and get a transmission put in it. I know there's a box of shrapnel around here somewhere if I run into it I'll take a pic. The k member moves everything forward about an inch so the exhaust had to be cut apart and redone as well

Lets see some of that 67 Chevelle.............

56 thunderbird. My wife really likes these. Oil leaks and fuel system issues. Looks like to pull the transmission the motor might have to come out.

Factory fuel injected 57 Corvette. This is one of our cars I am prepping to go up for sale. Only 1,040 fuel injected cars were built. I need to do a little more research to see if it was a 250 or a 280 horse car. Doesn't really matter though. It is numbers matching and we built the motor. It only has about 200 mi on it. Holly computer running an aftermarket set of rails and fuel injectors so the car will actually run in the heat and today's ethanol fuels. Solid cam in this motor is a beautiful symphony of sound. I love the patina on this car. Would love to build a rat rod C1 Corvette someday and have it look like this. But on a Morrison chassis with twin turbos coming out of the hood. Right now redoing the entire fuel system with an aftermarket heavy duty stainless tank, in tank pump, new filter and regulator.

Doing a ground up on a 1970 C10 Chevy pickup. Motor will be a 6.2 LS based. Six speed automatic transmission. Rolling chassis together and ready to go over to the paint shop. They will be bolting on the body and the bed for fitment.

Will you guys be using one of the GMPP kits?

My brother just had 525hp kit done in his '86 C10.  It rips!  The 6L80 in Sport mode is sweet.

Pretty sure it will be a Holley kit. I will post pics when we get there.

Couple aluminum LS style heads came in with damage to exhaust threads in each head. Beyond helicoil help. A little plug a little weld and a little milling they will be good as new.

Mustang mania. This car has a 347 stroker. Motor is coming out. Has some vibration and we will do some other stuff as well. Cooling system will not be adequate.
