Presidents weekend

Are the pads and cement flats already full? Some of my crew are planning on heading out Thursday but I've told them good luck finding a spot!

I left Sunday morning early. Pad 3/5 looked stacked. Pad 2-2.5 had spots and people were loading up. I would say Prez is the last big weekend and Thursday evening will be tough for a group 3+ to set up together. Seems like the big weekends, people are securing real estate the weekend before and using the 14 day rule to their advantage.

Cement Flats looked to be about the only place to still get in more than 1-2 rigs. I'll be running around later today and can get a better update

I left on Monday morning, Don't know how 4, keyhole, or road runner were but 3/5 were full. the loop had space, most of the other pads were taken with 1000+ cones. Flats looked like they had some space

We really need some more camping options in the dunes.

I have lost a lot of interest in Glamis this year with the crowds.

Our Group went out LAST Wednesday and couldnt get on a Pad - they were packed with rigs VERY few campers on Wednesday Feb 7th !!! The amount of blatant ghost camps were crazy. Ended up in
Wash 15 which is a pain with a buggy group - gecko is awesome for being right in the big dunes

Crazy thing is - it was crowded BUT out in the dunes seemed empty - I dont get it

From Camp RZR weekend all thru the season there are soo many "events" now a days that the old glamis of getting on Gecko without a army of ghost camps and 1 resident babysitting 15 rigs make it hard to be motivated to go for a 3-4 day trip anymore.

I stopped going this weekend two years ago due to camping, so last year we went the weekend after, and still couldn't get on Gecko. People ghost camp everywhere now, Gecko, Canal, and Washes, it is out of hand.

I will say, it isn't just the spots are gone, it is the people that are in those spots, people have changed for sure. Bums me out. Dunes need a reset and the people need a reset.
