Powerball pool for 7/19/23 drawing ~ $1B

Crap!

My great grandson was born today. I thought it was going to be lucky for us and we were going to win the big one.

Congrats on the great grandson!  That's awesome.

Someone won so the dream is over.

CA, again?!  The second highest taxed state?  Coincidence?
There is NO state tax on Lottery winnings in Commifornia Peutaux! :poke:

:lmao:

 maing

Now, it will be interesting what the winner does.

There was a show years ago about Lottery winners and where are they now! Sadly most were broke.

'Happy' to know that I personally contributed about $400 to the winner's billion dollars.... :/

Government banks on them going broke by spending nearly most of it within the US.

Unless they are smart enough to hire trustworthy money managers with a proven track record of effectively managing wealth, they typically all grow broke.

Me?  I'd invest 50% in RE, 30% in mutual funds, and enjoy the other 20%.  Fortunately, we've had a taste of luxury material things to not desire them.  For example, we wouldn't go out buying jewelry (Rolexes, diamond encrusted chains, etc.), luxury bags, luxury clothes, etc.  Crap that has zero value to us.  Also, we already live in a 5k sqft house on two acres- more than enough for the 3 of us.  If anything, I'd expand to have a legit man cave-game room and build a nice resort style oasis.

Yep! you is a smart Peutaux...Peutaux! :laugh1:

I have always wanted a Breitling watch...but there is no way I would buy one these days. I have a few really nice watches that I barely wear. Now, my favorite is $113 smart watch that is awesome.

Most days, my wife's engagement and wedding bands are home in the safe. We wear those silicone ones. No jewelry, especially when we travel.

We'd probably donate a bunch to Children's hospital...maybe create a Bartley foundation since we don't have kids.

Other than that...invest it, pay off our house and any debt we have, pay off my brother's home and any debt he and his wife have, play a little (Obviously)...but disappear for about a month right after to really figure out what is going on!

:lmao:
