We were hoping the same from you guys. Will say, you guys are quiet also. Great wash mates. That was my camp behind you in Wash. 3 Funco's and and a YXZ
Nice and quiet back there
The ceremony was great. Opening speech could have been shorter.
Admittedly we left after the flyover, but it was really neat to hear all of the introductions on the radio as we were duning out by China/Lizard. That was an awesome idea so people out of earshot could still tune in.I get that, it's a long day and half the audience leaves before all of the veterans are recognized.
I'm really happy to hear that the radio transmission was working as intended as that was mine and @Greengo's part of the volunteer effort!Admittedly we left after the flyover, but it was really neat to hear all of the introductions on the radio as we were duning out by China/Lizard. Super interested to hear how the radio went ... @Lord of the Dunes recommended the antenna setup, tuned a CP22E and had it 30' off the ground on the biggest hill we could reach, but still stuck in that valley. We certainly reached out more so than last year! Our dry run from Pad2 reached the base of Olds and the Calexico border crossing...great ceremony, i was listening while duning the open dunes by Osbourne. Thanks to all for the show.
At 11:11 i turned on my radio while we were stopped just south of Big Bowl( stupid sunset hill now) and listened while the planes flew over. Then we duned out to Osbourne and then south just past Olds where we found an older gentleman in a Rzr tipped on his side all alone. Flipped him back over and guided him to bottom of Olds, we then headed back towards Flag Pole where we sat otop of a hill just east and watched from a far. I heard the whole thing except when down in Olds valley.Super interested to hear how the radio went ... @Lord of the Dunes recommended the antenna setup, tuned a CP22E and had it 30' off the ground on the biggest hill we could reach, but still stuck in that valley. Really appreciate the feedback on that. For being down in that valley and LOS, I'll take it! @Yarder @Grease Monkey @Greengo :hethan:At 11:11 i turned on my radio while we were stopped just south of Big Bowl( stupid sunset hill now) and listened while the planes flew over. Nice meeting you at the drags! - and just realized my car is photo bombing haDrove out just for the day. I Was the first customer of the day at Taco Bell this morning off 4th street. After pulling off onto gecko road and finding a place off the side to park we unloaded and took off about 830 am. Drove our cars all day except for a few breaks. We hit China wall, (never saw the lake), swing set, fireman’s pole, olds and then last we hit the drags. Met a couple new friends from GD after recognizing their cars, that was cool. Loaded up and headed home. Man it was a long day but super super fun. Another week and we will be back! Thank you mother G!
