Peek-a-Boo AKA engine and other Carnage - who breaks it best .....

Those CV balls................... WOW....
I still have them somewhere in my shop. The axle got so hot it pretty much welded the CV star to it. It's hanging on the wall in the race shop. We were running 2nd place in the 2010 BITD Parker 425 and our first time racing that series. Downtime cost us 2 hours. We switched to true outboard hubs soon thereafter, which cost us $10,000.

Jeff - you have the crown for blown up parts hands down ...

thats a huge Ouch - what engine was behind the 091?
Stock honda 3.5A3 in a mid size HRT a-arm car. Original build of the car had all weddle trans top to bottom, super dif, reinforced case “strongest you build an 091”. That trans lasted 5 season with the third seasons needing bearings and reverse gear. The last refresh it needed R/P and second gear, I went with a German R/P vs a weddle it only lasted half a season.I definitely believe in weddle product after my experience. Also after having five season in the car and with my boys growing allowing for faster speeds. We it let go it was a long up hill sandy run at Superstition with dirt tires (33” BGF). After the pull up the hill I stop to let the group catch up, down shifted from third to first, as I let the clutch out to take off BOOM and shook the car like Iv never felt before I knew it was catastrophic. It was time for a beer break

Hondas can build some Torque ... I've been in a car when the Trans "locked up" .. it was an Underwear break even more than a Beer break.  My trans builder says the New German R&P's are no way as good as the Weddle stuff - If you want German you buy and old "seasoned" set . I though it was BS, but this confirms it...

You should see the suffering I don't post! I have to be very diplomatic and always ask permission to post pics on GD and IG. Blown up engines look bad for builders and can bring a cars value down so I rarely post pics.

Here's 2nd gear/mainshaft from my Albins AGB H pattern I licked uo from Rancho today. Last rebuild was Oct 2017, so four solid seasons on this transaxle and it only needed 2nd gear. I run LAT 85-140.

Mechanical stuff breaks  .... even the best builders suffer failures  -

Pulled this from a "builders" engine between the Cooler and Oil Pan  sloppy work at best ...
