Our highschool football coach was removed from his position

My varsity HS football coach was an absolute A$$hole. Not because he was "hard', mostly because he was a brain dead.  He thought we sucked because we we were out of shape and got tired during the game.  Couldn't be the fact that we only had about 15 guys on the team because EVERYONE hated him...  So, what did we do during practice?  Run and run and run.  Not practice actual football skills or plays. F'n idiot.  

So glad this guy was a positive influence on the community, and sounds like he will take it with him to the next one.

Wonder which relative or friend of the athletic director and/or school board is getting the position?  Being in NE Oklahoma I know what you're describing.  My son's baseball coach is worried this same thing will happen to him as well.  All because he's a God fearing man and the communists have infiltrated the administration...even here.  Interested to see how your situation pans out.

time will tell, all the coaches already resigned their positions, and kids are all ready to leave the school for others. OSAA is allowing a one time transfer with no penalties now so I'm sure they will be a team of 1 by next season

This is a heart breaking story as our kids need mentors like this…I still remember all of my coaches and positive effects they left. 
We’re somewhat dealing with this BS coaching crap with our Freshman sons HS soccer team…our son has played club soccer since 6-7 and plays at a higher level..now on HS team and hoping for the same and realizing it’s not the case. It’s apparent and very similar to AYSO “every kid plays” and winning isn’t a priority which is pissing my son…it’s already over it. He also made the Lacrosse team and their program seems more targeted to our son mindset. Fingers crossed and hope the best for your sons coach. 

Good luck to you and your son. My son graduated that school 5 years ago and just graduated college today. This coach was instrumental in him playing at the next level, pushed him hard, made him accountable, but more important was there for him when he needed someone 'other than dad" to talk to. He still talks to him today, 5 years later, like he was still playing for him. just a great guy

Gary Cooper was my Head Coach at Monte Vista. He transferred from Valhalla. Then went on to Mt Miguel. Coach Bob Mears (uncle to INDY 500 winner Rick Mears) was my Head Coach at SW College. Lacey was the reason why I "DIDN'T" play baseball. He was an idiot in my eyes. Should have stayed in Baseball. But.............when you're 16 years old, sometimes you make the wrong decisions.
