1200 flawless hours on genny and starts idles does its thing. Runs AC just fine and other stuff but on occasion lately turn on microwave after a few mins of genny running and it kills the gen. I noticed it starting to happen last season also and always put fuel saver and try to replace fuel annually also. Help please.

That sounds like a fuel pump going bad. Sometimes they will weaken and not provide enough fuel under load.

hmmm will look into fuel pump. Ran great twice today using micro here in the dunes. replaced fuel filter 2 seasons ago, but worth a shot as its easy to do.

I noticed when my batteries were low it would do this on my 5500. But also my carburetor was bad from letting to sit too long. I would unplug the microwave and let it run for a bit and sometimes it would help. Ended up taking it somewhere for a full tune up and carburetor replacement and it's been fine ever since.

Interesting that it will start the A/C without issue.

Dude this may be it! Woke up this AM at G with small alarm going off and freezing. Batteries were at 9.3 volts so Its time to replace and hope that solves the issues. Thanks!

Smith Powerhouse Inc In Lakewood is legit for generators.

Mine was overfilled on Oil
Drained out some oil and took about 4 trips for it to work correctly

Now I measure the oil coming out and get close to putting that back in,

I'd stop putting fuel saver in. If you are going 1x a month, or even every 2 months tis not needed.

its actually seafoam i use in all my gas running stuff. Works amazing, will tear into it this week now that Im home. Still acted up bad last few days out..

All my Carb issues went away now that i mix in 1 gallon of 110-VP to 4 gallons of 87 octane, i think the stabilizer the race fuel has in it keeps it from gumming up, but it will goes months now without having to start it,

This gets overlooked a lot. Fuel line. Check your fuel line from the tank to the generator. Also, what is your fuel level in the tank? People have had the "dip tube/hose" come off or crack in the tank and it won't draw fuel anymore.

An easy way to check this or fuel it out is cut a piece of hose and run it direct from a gas can near the generator to the carb. See how it runs and if it fixes the issue.

Fuel pumps are cheap. $50 on Amazon. I always kept a spare fuel pump and carb when I had a gas generator.
