Wheelie bars are not fun at Glamis, car really needs setup with a wheelie bar as far as shocks with a swing axle. Easier to just run a bit of boost and spin tires.Yep I have the nose cone. No light in it. Wheelie bar would be cool. Especially with some boost.
That's a museum piece there !.
And you'll have just as mush fun in the sand with it as anybody out there weather THEY believe it or notWhen I was a kid this was the sandrail I dreamed of owning! I’d still like to get one some day it’s really all you need to get around glamis and have a great time!View attachment 165676
That's what my BIL's looks like, but no rear torsions and shocks on the frame up front. When I was a kid this was the sandrail I dreamed of owning! I’d still like to get one some day it’s really all you need to get around glamis and have a great time!View attachment 165676
here's mine, i redid the whole thing years ago. it sat untouched in my enclosed trailer inside a storage for probably 6 plus years. pulled it out, she fired right up. then i sold it.i was just a tad too tall for it and my head hit the top bar even with the seats dropped as low as they would go. my dream was a sand sprite 6. never got one. When I was a kid this was the sandrail I dreamed of owning! Ditto, I would love to have one of these. So clean, simple...except for the oil eaks. LolWhen I was a kid this was the sandrail I dreamed of owning! I’d still like to get one some day it’s really all you need to get around glamis and have a great time!View attachment 165676
Good info.As Hozay said the OSR in march is super fun to see all the Old cars..I stand there for hours handing out Numbers to each car driving in and I grew up with Old school Buggies and hearing a VW engine through a Tri mill exhaust is just music to my ears.I just can't help but smile
prowlers sand sprite 3 I believeWhen I was a kid this was the sandrail I dreamed of owning! I’d still like to get one some day it’s really all you need to get around glamis and have a great time!View attachment 165676
my candy blue one had a 2375 (I think it was, its been many years), with dual 48 webers, and a sand trans type 1 swingaxle. and I tell you that thing ran like a top, brand new, billet cases the whole 9 yards, and it leaked and drove me NUTS, I hate leaks on anything lol. Before that I had a buggy that had a 2180 I think it was done by gex and it never leaked a drop, but i had serious carb issues with 44 webers. took it to an old school porsche guy here in town to ask some questions and he said i know your issue, bring me the carbs. He took them to the back, threw them on some machine, did some wizardry lol, and it ran perfect, and we beat the crap out of that thing, and I sold it. Sure wish I'd have kept all this. My best friend still has his SS3 like my blue one, his had the t top version, sitting in his storage and hasn't been out in probably 25 years. he said when i die you can have it lol.Ditto, I would love to have one of these. So clean, simple...except for the oil eaks. Lol
I freaking love these things though.
Just a good looking car too. Don't need a cra y motor, 1835 would be just fine.
