My 2006 Wuerth Motorsports Build

Thats awesome! See if you can get any pics!

Yep, seems like every Wuerth owner has said the pivot tube is the only weak point. Super stout cars otherwise! Everything from the Pivot tube forward is all original on mine!
Here are some pics I have of his car. Don't mind the cheesy photos, he let me use it for my HS senior photoshoot haha.

Minus the pivot tube, this car has been hands down the most reliable car in our group. His boys and myself put lots of dune miles on this car. Everyone knows what damage teenagers can do hahaha.

Thanks for sharing these!! I've seen this one out there before. Wonder how many Wuerth cars were built total. I always see ones out there that I haven't seen before, so guessing a decent amount were built.

No problem. The car rarely sees the dunes these days. They moved to Utah and only make 2-3 trips a year now. I'll have to talk to my buddies dad on the history of Wuerth and share it with the forum. He knew Steve pretty well and was really hands on with the build process of his car.

Would love to hear more. Thanks in advance for sharing with us.

Before the Thanksgiving Trip, found another crack starting in the pivot tube right next to my weld from the new engine cage i made a couple years back. So did a quick gusset job. I plan to plate the entire pivot tube when i redo the car. Added a triangle gusset, and tied the 2 tubes together. (did the same to both sides)

Thanksgiving week was great in Glamis! Ran the car hard for a week and had no issues. We had a good squad out there!
(Desert Dynamics w/ blown 402 LS and S4, Turbo RZR on E85, SU Ultra Light w/ 550whp turbo J35, Baja Shop w/ LS1 and S4, Tatum Spyder w/ Northstar, and my car!)

Saw some cool cars and some familiar ones from here too.

Forgot to mention, got a chance to weigh the car. 2183 lbs with probably 3/4 tank of fuel (we were on a long ride that went from wash 16, to umbrella hill, to China wall, to swingset, then to pad 3 to weigh the car!) This is also with all of my tools etc in the back!

My buddy weighed his SU (the one pictured above) and his came in at 2140 lbs!

My weight split was 76/23, the SU was 73/26. It was definitely interesting to compare the similar sized cars!

I ran into his brother, and business partner, John Wuerth in the dunes last season. He said there were about 150 cars built in total with the last being a monster in 2009. I think they called it an R1? There is a YouTube video of it. I’m the proud owner of my second dual sport Wuerth car and it has been absolutely incredible. My first one, a 2006 dual sport, had the torsion tube cracks like most. But this one is a 2007 and seems to have a thicker wall tube which has not cracked. Both my current car as well as my previous got the 2” hollow spindle upgrade using RBP parts.

Good info! Did you get the RBP 2" hallow that just slides over the existing combo snout?

Also post some pics of your car!
