True story: Back in the 1960s, my wife's uncle decided
to build a "Rock Crawler/Dunebuggy" out of an old jeep.
The jeep was a genuine POS, but so what.
He located a second transmission, managed to bolt in
in the frame one behind the other. He stretched the frame/body
making it a convertible and and rear rumble seat that was elevated
and 6 foot behind the rear axle. He always put the kids back there to
scare the pee out of them. I was permitted to drive it one year, and it
was actually scary. The rods knocked so loud you couldn't talk.
Near his home, the was an area called "The Dobies" which was
eroded mud domes scattered around randomly.
It was a fun visit to Colorado.
