Maybe belongs else here but posting here so it gets seen.

I have a 2022 Genesis Vortex 3317 vxl. Bought it earlier this year used with 30 hours on the generator. Ran the generator today and its shutting off. Runs for a minute or two and turns off with a flashing light saying service required. I'm not home to count the flashes from the unit itself. Were leaving this weekend and need some help. Does anyone know a mobile guy that would come out to Corona to check it out?

Thanks

Have not used them yet. Solutions RV mobile services.. 951-490-8041. Let us know if they work out.

Well I am guessing a dying fuel pump. Easiest way to diagnose is to turn the genny on and when it dies empty the float bowl. Should be enough fuel in it for you to gauge if it was full. I would order a spare pump just in case. They are cheap and easy to change

yep.. Vito is very good.... Or you can call me and Ill walk you thru some steps to diagnosis the issue. 858-750-984one

I would bet it is the Carburetor, easy way to check is put a amazon china carb on it, i have a spare i always keep,  if the china one works then i would replace the carb with a foctory onan,

These new gennies can only sit about 2 weeks in the summer before the air jet gets clogged and as soon as the air jet starts to get gummed up, it will get worse and worse,

I had the fuel pump go out on mine earlier this year and it did the same thing.  Would run for a few minutes then shut off.  Onan 5500.

Is it the 4000 or the 5500... 4000 carbs are junk... not worth trying to clean...the 5500s can be cleaned on the bottom.

5500. It fired today and shut off. Today it won't even start. Cranks but won't fire.

The thingy on the bottom of the fuel bowl gets gummed up....that you can clean on the 5500.....worth a shot....worked for a couple of my friends. Hell who am I kidding my only two friends.....

This is usually the main cause of carburetor problems. Unhook the wire to it, unscrew it from the bowl, clean it good with carb cleaner spray, make sure the plunger goes in and out easily and freely, reinstall, hook up the wire, prime that pig and hit the go button!

That's what I said....

This thread inspired me to go and run my Genny. Thank goodness it fired up and ran with the AC on.

I will say i have purchased every kind of carb,  the amazon works ok to get you through the weekend, the onan carb from Amazon was i think a fake, worked ok,  The one that worked the best was driving down to the Cummins dealership and purchasing the factory carb with the hologram on it,
