One of my favorite bands. Hard to argue that Neal Peart was not one of the best. Was very close to the front for their last concert in Phoenix. One of the tightest bands ever. I would say in the past 30 years there would be very few weeks that I did not hear a Rush song one way or another.

I'm a metal guy through and through! But my favorite band of all time is RUSH! I saw them over 10 times including the last tour in 2015!

Tough pick.  Went Hetfield just because there are a lot more Metallica songs I enjoy.

Megadeth is proof your band can have better players and not be as good of a band.  I like the fact that Metalica always played what their inner ear told them to play while MegaDave just kept playing the same things over and over for the most part.

Van Halen is EVH doesn't matter if it is DLR or Sammy it's Van Halen.  DLR era was your high school garage band made it big, The Sammy era they explored how to write better songs.  To me it's like watching Gilligans Island in Black & White vrs Color.

As far as metal goes, For me this would of been my go to in high school for "metal"

I kinda disagree with this. They both had exceptional musicians, aside from Lars. Dave just saw the writing on the wall and went a different direction than Metallica, so as not to be the same. Whether it was out of spite or just an engineered direction... he did not want to sound like Metallica and you have to agree... he did a GREAT job of separating the two.

His old and new tracks all sound like true Metal, wheras Metallica straight up sold out to the Ladies and guys that brought those ladies to the shows. They also shortened their songwriting skills after the drugs were pushed away, for easier set lists.

Nothing Metallica has recorded since "Sad But True" became a single (Not 'since the Black album', but since they saw what kind of an audience their short songs gave them). Enter Sandman was their open gate to "Easier Songs" and the charts reflected that switch being worth their while.

There can never be two Metallica's (there's not enough T-shirt material available to support this), but there can easily be Metallica and Megadeth showing who actually enjoys writing albums, rather than cashing checks.

I've seen Mustaine's house in Fallbrook... he's not sad about his choice. He got his respect by having the character he does. By "character" I mean he would NEVER bring Trujillo into a METAL band and kill his talent like James and Co. did. I haven't heard Robert play Bass, like Robert can play Bass, since he left Suicidal and stopped the Infectious side project.
Black Album was their last good album.  Everything after that was garbage to me, and I was in High School when Load came out.  Metallica went the way the NFL currently has, NASCAR did in the 2000s, etc: widespread commercial appeal after getting widespread commercial appeal, which killed all the reasons they were good.

Started with Iron Maiden then moved onto punk then back to metal. Still love all the classic rock bands like zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Van Halen and……..

One of my favorite current bands. It's metal mixed with sorta rap. The metal part is the second half of the song, so keep watching. I gotta see these guys in concert.
