Mendeola 2D at Transworks in El Cajon

I used to feel bad about telling people they were going to have to 4-6 weeks for a new trans from us back in 2019.

It will get better again, hopefully within the next 6-8 months on our end. These are weird times for supply and demand.
Order a Toyota Rav4 hybrid, your wait is currently a year and a half. It's the world we are in right now.

Dave built all of my transmissions back in the day. Stand up guy. Like said already, pick up your parts and bring it to Dave. It may cost a little more but it will be done.

Dave is a great guy and went way out of his way to help me out. a few years ago i was in glamis i pulled the trans out in storage and started to disassemble it just want to know what parts i would need to get for my next trip out to get it back together. i call dave late that day he told me just to bring him everything and he would get it done i explained to him i was flying out of phoenix the next night and just wanted to try to get the parts if something needed to be ordered. I got to his shop early the next morning he had one of his guys there early they both got right on it and i was back on the road by noon with my trans rebuilt ready to install couldn't be any happier. So back to glamis i put trans back in the car and off to the airport made my flight. the trans was great for the next 3 seasons and it shifted smother then it ever did after the 3rd season i upgraded the a whipple and a pbs s4.  Dave does great work didn't cut any corners even though i was in a rush he did it right had the two gear and blocking rings and a few bearings all there in stock

You missed a whole season due to this. If it were me I'd just have Eric box up my parts, pay what is owed, and take it to McDowell. Missing a trip for this isn't so bad, but a whole season, eff that.

Not to beat on you, but this is a hobby that is generally only in a hand full of states and countries, it is not like a drag race track with ls motors, so if you have to wait a year for a part that is not bad, some exotic auto sports might wait years for parts,  as the market shift to big box factory vehicles, this will make the transaxle parts harder to get,

I waited for a for a S4D for over 15 months, after that i have always kept parts on the shelf, like a saving account every month i order a spare part for my trans, when i go into my transaxle i will have every part I need on the shelf,
This is a spare to my spare 2D.  Transaxle parts will be hard to get for some shops when they are using the supplier as their "shelf stock".  As far as keeping parts for me, I keep 3 transaxles ready to go usually.  I'm down to two.  :ez:

Eff that. Weather the parts are backorder or not, return a guys phone call. I can't stand crap like that. I will not beg anyone to take my money.

Pick up your parts and take them over to Dave McDowell. 100% legit dude. Always talks to you, hell, one time I called him late in the afternoon, he spent almost an hour on the phone with me, despite not be at work, and having his kids with him.
X3. Dave is a way better option

Here is a little update to this thread. Called Eric at Transworks and told him I’m picking it up. He asked why and I straight out told him because of his lack of communication. My cousin picked it up for me because he is local in El Cajon and I live in Yuma.  He took all the parts over to Dave McDowell. Dave called me two days later and asked why I wanted a new ring and pinion. I told him Eric said I needed them. He laughed for a brief moment. Then said, your ring and pinion are in perfect shape, what in the hell was he(Eric) talking about. Dave is going through it and said he would get back to me next week.

What a joke. Eric had this thing for a long time. Kept telling me he was waiting on a ring and pinion every time I called. Not once did he reach out to me. Something seems fishy to me. Also, I had sent a good ring and pinion to him to install. When he got it, he said that it was no good. When my cousin went to pick it up, Eric could not find the spare used ring and pinion I had sent him. As you guys Know, R&P are not cheap. Now I’m even more pissed than I was before   :ez:

I have never had a problem with Eric for the last 15 years and he has always been a stand up guy and build a great transmission .

I've used him 3-4 times.  I have no idea what's going on over there these days. :ez:

Eric has built 4 091's for me. They have all worked great. Eric is a love him or hate him kind of guy. Now, when I had an S4, that when to Foltz. No way I would let Eric touch it.

I didn't dislike the guy, but his business practices are a joke IMO.  20+ calls to him by me.  Not once trying to rush him.  I just wanted an update.  I wouldn't have cared if here called me once every six months just to say, "I havent forgot about you". :ez:
