I have a car in our shop with a 2D and a 383 stroker with a 1.9 Maggie, he has never broken the trans, runs a trans pump and does not hit the whoops,What would be the limit of a 2d hp wise
I had a 2D with a 416 and never broken the trans, both with 934,s CVs lasted forever,
a lot has to do with driven style, for example, don't use reverse innless you have to, jumping the car, i push in the clutch or match the wheel speed, change out the main shaft bearing ever year,
Shifting components can make a trans last, We install so many billet shifters like a Proamm or a Fortin, run ball bearing steering joints with chromoly shafts, - This can make the Scyros and shift forks last, due to a very positive shift.
I have seen peeps break S4 and Albins, It really maters how the car is driven,
Also larger the tire the more leverage it has on the drive train, use the correct size tire, for a 2D.
Having to less of HP can break a 2d quicker than not enough, with not enough HP for your driving style, some will stay in the same gear all the time and wear out that gear - when the other gears are not used, or staying in to low of a gear, lower the gear the small the gear is,
