looking for advice - ford truck in shop over 6 weeks......

IDK, but ford found a way.  I'm at my wit's end.  At this point, not sure if the F bombs I'm dropping at the service are helping but at 6 weeks and counting - it cannot get worse..........
Open a claim for them to buy it back or give you a new one. 6 weeks is well past the lemon law limit on the car and the emissions warranty on the new cars I believe is 100k miles regardless of age. Or, get it back and have it deleted... eff C A R B

In hindsight I probably should have just deleted it, but ford said it was under warranty and they would replace it.  At the time I was ok with that because I did not know the part was on perma-backorder.  Such BS, because ford still making trucks so I guess all the dpf go to new trucks and not warranty claims.  Really looking forward to a nice recession when customer service and satisfaction actually means something....  FML......
Not that it'll help(not sure how the DPF is built) but my '05 had the cat clog and then overheat. I took a picklefork to it... never had another issue.

Wonder why the 2 bolts snapped? Maybe they were over torqued and stretched at the factory. Or they used a permanent loctite?

I would think long and hard before you delete it. I bought a 2014 F350 for my daughter that is deleted. It has been a total PITA. I wanted a second key as it only came with one. Can't get a key programmed as everyone is afraid if they try it it may cause the computer to revert back to it's stock flash and then I'm SOL since all the stuff has been removed. Had a few other electric glitches with TPMS, Oil change indicator, etc and same story. Can't do anything for fear the truck won't ever run again. I'll never own another truck like this, just not worth it. Don't get  me wrong, I'm not suggesting I'm a fan of all the crap they put on the trucks now but if you go changing it better know what you are in for.

Do you have commercial insurance on this truck? Might be worth a call to your insurance carrier.

Heat cycling makes them brittle, and a lot of OEMs (like the LS) use hilariously small hardware for exhaust manifolds.

the difference is if you are the one doing the delete you know what was done and have the old parts. when your out of warranty and your looking a bill north of 7k from the dealer for a DPF it hard not to just delete it. a few hundred for a pipe or you can gut the filter and about 1000 for a good tune. i don't understand why they would be worried about the computer reverting back when you flash a ecm the tuner usually saves your original configuration and overwrite a new file on you ecm. so actually i don't think there is anything there for it to revert back on. my 2011 gmc was done with a mini max best thing i ever did almost doubled my fuel mileage
