Looking for a commuter car (again...)

My oldest needs a beater to get him around locally for about a year or so. Back in the day this was the $300 POS, not sure what that amount is any more..... $2k, $3k, $5K??? Dunno...

In any case, just something that runs and will pass smog.

I'm in San Diego, but for sure will drive for a solid deal.

Following. Doing the same thing for kid right now too. Amazing what people think things are now a days. Car we use to think was worth about $1000 ($300 back in the day) people want $3000 grand or more for.

Yeh times changed but couple years ago my son tried to sell his old lancer for 2800. He had it maintained very well new steering front end,engine mounts struts brakes ac etc. downside had 218k miles.

I ended up buyin it from him and use it for going back forth Phx to oc often 258k on it now. Got my moneys worth and will keep it going.

But seen other cars similar priced and beat to shit ac out etc.
