While filming Du Barry Was a Lady, Lucille Ball experienced a strange incident driving home one night: loud music filled her car, despite the radio being off. Puzzled, she shared the story with Buster Keaton the next day.
"Do you have lead fillings?" Keaton asked.
"Yes!" Lucy replied.
"You picked up a radio station signal through your fillings on Moore Road," he explained, leaving her stunned.
Weeks later, driving to her San Fernando Valley ranch, Lucy heard beeps in her teeth—Morse code. She reported it to MGM security, who alerted the FBI. A week later, the FBI arrested a Japanese gardener for transmitting sensitive information about the Port of Los Angeles.
"My big mouth finally did some good," Lucy quipped years later.
