I really do feel bad for my neighbors.  every morning for the last 20 years, I have fired up my 24V Cummins.......... 

I have added sound deadening material.  point it down hill when I park.  Let gravity take the truck down hill...........  its still loud as chit @ 5:00 in the morning.  LOL. 

My neighbors have had hear my 12 V cummins since 1997 this morning I fired it up about 3:15 and tomorrow they get to sleep in to 3:45 when I'm running the Lowbed trailer I keep them guessing

The loud car thing came up with my neighbors this weekend.  They were in the driveway admiring the neighbor on the other side of them new Bronco.  They mentioned that as loud as it just was, they never hear it.  There bedroom is probably 40' from my driveway...
