I use to flip the shifter to the left side so you could speed shift, low gear was in and up second gear was down for a faster gear change. DON~~~

I remember having a large Oil Lamp in our formal living room ( the room with the couches covered in plastic ). It was one of those lamps that oil ran down the lines from top to bottom.... That was about as 70's as the beads that hung across the hallway entrance.
