Going for an early morning Harley ride, then back to UrClever's house for a BBQ. Happy Independence day everyone.

 
Just working.  Time and-a-half though.  Plus 8 hours comp time.

May try smash taco's on the Blackstone for dinner.  Daughter wants to watch some Patriotic movies with me.  I recommended Birth of a Nation.  She wants the new Top Gun.

 
Gym in the am.  A former Marine suffering from PTSD got all up in my face.  He was training with the gym owner and when I went to use the fly machine he snapped.  It was the machine they were going to use next but for an unknown reason he snapped that I jumped on it.  The guy is notorious for staring people down but I held my ground and things got heated.  The guy is about my height 5'8" and stocky AF- all bulk, no cardio (practical fitness).  After he raised his voice a few times in a threatening manner, he go too close.  Despite me having warned him to keep his distance...he did not.  I put my BJJ training to use immediately and swiftly grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back to control the situation.  The owner got between us and I let him go quickly.  

Long story, short...I later (after he left) learned (from the gym owner) the man is 54 and suffers from severe PTSD.  I felt terrible.  I have the utmost respect for guys who are braver than me because they served.  To me, that is probably the bravest thing you can do- train for REAL life and death battles.  The Marine could not let go of what occurred.  He wanted a confrontation.  He wanted to fight.  My guess is to prove his the stronger, powerful man.

I'm sure we'll run into each other again but I'm at odds of how to handle the situation next time.  God bless our military folks! <3

 
There is thankfulnes, humility, respect,  gratefulness, and  honor, but there is also a line.  What if it was your wife or daughter (if you have either)????  

Like I said, tough situation...  now you know though...

He's do respect, but only so much... if he has untreated PTSD, then the GYM owner should pay more attention to him... Sounds like you need to use the gym owner as a go between and the Gym owner needs to talk to the guy. Just because he has some issues, doesn't give him King's X to do whatever  he wants...we are still a civil society. The more I think about it, the more the GYM OWNER needs to address this...his gym, his customers....Sorry you have to deal with this.

I do but I've never seen him be agro towards women in the gym.  It's just guys.  It's like he wants to be the alpha of the gym while here's there.

You're right.  And that's why he only works out when the owner himself is there and they both work out together.  The owner admitted to me that he's been kicked out of two other gyms for the same behavior.

I have a sincere, genuine respect and compassion for vets.  I don't know where it originates from (perhaps old war movies I used to watch) but these guys are heroes to me, as cliche as it may sound.

It'll be a year next month since we bought the house in this neighborhood. Last year I drove thru it on the 4th. All the neighbors were together and the kids were having a blast.  

I decided an hr ago I'd go to the fireworks sarand and get the big bang box. 

Bought it and dropped it off with one of the dad's.  They were stoked. I was stoked. Thought alright, I'll see y'all later when the sun goes down. 

Knock knock on my front door. It's one of their boys bringing me something.

just did the dumbest thing i've ever done, drunk or sober.

got a call out for an ac down. grab my stuff and head over. cap and contactor and shes up and running. im in a hurry and hot as hell, think oh i can put this screw in without killing the power. well that didn't work out so well. what felt like an eternity and then some, i got the shock of my life, couldn't move away and it gave me probably 6th degree burn on my left index finger, my wrist feels like its broken, although i didn't fall down. and not sure how i got loose, but damn that thing lit me up like the 4th. 

won't ever make that mistake again. and just when i thought man no calls today its been a ME day, doing what I want and then bam.

shower and going to bed lol. and maybe a couple shots of crown to take the edge off.
