It’s the day after Christmas, what did you get?

First year I didn’t open a single present…. I’m at the point where watching  the wife and kids open gifts is my present. My birthday is in December so I did go back to my kid roots and get this

I have to remind my wife that I stopped maturing when I was 13.

Short of having the car fixed and heading to G on the 26th I got everything I wanted and enjoying having both of the boys home from school. :scheeks:  wife had gall bladder surgery last Tuesday so I was busy holding down the fort and prepping for Christmas. She's doing good and was able to make Christmas Eve service, on the mend now and hoping to finally get to wrenching on the canam later this week... after golfing with both of my boys

Update, Southwest informed them yesterday that they could fly out Thursday. That was a last Sunday, Christmas day ticket. Looks like SWA is having a bad holiday week.
Between the freeze and their crew scheduling system crashing, it's been a really shitty last few days. My wife is at the top of the food chain in OC and has been juniored 2-3 hours her last 4 days working...

Oh man, that sucks.  Saw on the news that 80% of SW's flights were cancelled yesterday and their scrambling to get pilots to planes . . .

My Niece got cancelled yesterday..rented a car to drive home to truckee....got home at 3.....am..... My nephews flights for Thursday are cancelled.....

If  you were a pilot who made 150k in OT this year, would you rather fly or stay home with the family????????

That's not the case, and while I usually side with us here on these types of issues there have been over 2300 flights canceled and most of the employees are suffering the effects... the freeze grounded many of the planes, then the crew scheduling system completely crashed. SW was fare-ing flights on other airlines for their crew members that were stuck in other states to get them to the planes that were accessible. Just from OC on Monday, there were 22 of 29 outbound canceled due to no available crews from the system crash.

This whole thing is kind of interesting. Everyone on the news was piling in the SW management last night, like there was some huge issue that has been stewing for a while and all it took, was a couple of cold days to create chaos... hard to tell what is the truth.

My wife asked what I wanted, I said Top Gun Maverick on Blu Ray....it was in my stocking!

:headbang:

She also got me a cool fold up organizer for my truck.

We really don't do gifts...just small stuff.

Got a new larger backpack/ bug out bag. Got a new expanded metal table for my BBQ in the dunes. GF got me Taco Stands, little metal taco holders to keep your taco standing upright.

But the best thing was building a Barbie bike and Little Wheels car for the GF's granddaughters.  Best part of the entire day was when the oldest granddaughter saw the Barbie bike and was so excited for like three seconds until she saw her younger cousins Little Wheels car.  Then it was three hours of crying that she didn't want the one thing she told every Santa she saw she wanted the car......

What did I get for myself, well I got a new mass air flow sensor, a new air and fuel filter and a new knock II sensor for my truck. because the one thing I got just before Christmas was a check engine light.

Another KTM?
Yes. The 1290 super Duke GT. They stopped importing them in 2020. A new and revised. Single sided swingarm 175hp cruiser. I love my 2018 1290 super adventure that I will be selling it and upgrading. Was due in the states late Dec but now is targeting late Jan. It’s a 2023 model. This will be my main computer to work

although it’s not a 2023 the Europeans had the same bike  in 2022 across the pond

My ex wife never got me anything and then when I was divorced, I just got in the habit of if I wanted something, I just bought it.  With my wife now, I still do the same.  She views things as what I make is my money and what she makes is her's.  I did just buy her a new car though.

With that said, I just rebuilt/modified my shocks, getting ready to do the body and new wiring/computer.  I also have a double neck guitar I'm waiting to build and will be buying parts for that, some new guns and gun stuff.  Also saving for the RV barn for this year hopefully...
