It's Saturday March 28th 2026.. What is everyone doing this weekend?

Playing irrigation roulette here. I have two pump stations drawing water from a canal that bisects my property. Hooking up the pumps and charging the lines is subject to a late season freeze which could translate into $1,000s of damage. All the hard shiz is done, I’m itching to do the “glory” work and start throwing water.

Our property consists of the main house with attached garage (5,200) + additional detached (40x60x12) garage with large apartment/guest house upstairs. The attached garage was essentially wasted space because my workshop + car parking is the detached space. My son was using the attached garage for his "chingaderas" and "experiments"- I built him a laboratory (think Dexter) + batting/workout station. His area has been moved over to my workshop area.

Late last year, the "Man Cave" bit me. So, I planned to convert the detached garage into a full blown man cave/game room. I'm too lazy to post before pics but here is a video of the today status.

What I did:

-replaced all trim and base boards
-repaired drywall from injection foam insulation it the ceiling
-repaired drywall from spray cellulose in ceiling
-added and replaced outlets throughout
-replaced lighting throughout
-paint
-faux brick finish
-new, square trim finish
-carpet tiles
-decor
-sealed all spacing to mitigate bugs getting in
-utility room is now a fridge + bar

What my buddy did:
-install mini-split
-upgrade e-panel

Looking at garage screen options now...may become a DIY requiring me to weld some shiz.

@Crusty helped out with advice.

Not professional by any means but I'm proud of my work.

Today, I built shelves for my 100+ shot glass collection...and added 3 more to grow. (pic later)

EDIT: also day 3 of 7 of colonoscopy prep.

so last year i bought a 97 firebird that had been in a garage and not started for about 13 years. after a new fuel tank, pump, tires, plugs, wires, water pump, radiator, full a/c compressor, condensor etc. i got it running, just a 6cyl, runs great, convertible.
when i bought it the mileage was unknown as the battery was completely dead, it wouldn't jump. it had 64,980 one owner miles on it. the guy passed away.
Today I took it on its maiden voyage, round trip about 95 miles to a car show fund raiser.
the drive in is being demolished tomorrow and you got a picture of your car in front of the drive in. ran like a top, a/c ice cold, so now I can start driving it around on cruise nights with the top down lol.

I guess it's time to visit you...get my room ready.

Hit the road home from visiting my nephews in San Tan yesterday morning.
Went through Sedona and decided to hit up Slick Rock. Tugging my TH up Oak Creek canyon was exciting.
Stopped in Durango to visit family for the night. Hit the road for Evergreen about 130 this afternoon. Rolled in about an hr ago. Im beat.
Lots of laundry and clean up tomorrow after 18 days and 2300 miles on the road and camping.20260328_093403.jpg20260328_115610.jpg20260327_111623.jpgVideoCapture_20260327-113741.jpg
