Special Olympics Regional Tennis Tourney in Denton, TX. First time playing tennis for her. They group everyone by skill level. No one was at her skill level AFTER everyone on her team played 2 games each. They never called her name. Bummer. SO..........they have a skills challenge or doubles play in the afternoon session. She chose Skills challenge with Dads persuasion. She ended up doing real well for her first time. 2nd place in her division. Arrived at 8:15am (1hr drive) and left at 3:30. My buddies have been calling me all day about the loss of Josh DeMuth because they know Danielle had an incredible relationship with him and were concerned about her. Which was totally cool but..........they asked what are you doing today? My answer was a comparison to this: Go home with a paint brush and a gallon of paint. Apply to the wall, then stand there for 7 hrs and watch it dry! When you have kids, you have to sacrifice your days sometimes. Special Olympic Athletes will ground you immediately. They're the happiest people on Earth. YOU don't have problems BTW...........They are so happy to be there trying to hit a tennis ball and we're complaining about the bills we have to pay. They miss more times than they hit the ball and they LOVE it. High Fives all day long. And the volunteers are incredible people. VOLUNTEERS! No pay, just wonderful human beings. Tomorrow, I'm buying a gallon of paint to see if my comparison is right. Happy Easter Y'ALL! Peace
