Introducing the MidnightAce Sand/dual sport car!

GLAMIS WEATHER
I assume it would come with a Manufacturer Statement of Origin with a serial number at a minimum which you would take to your local titling official. It would likely be some type of Special Construction title at that point.
Last car I bought had a title from Arizona, Wondering if it states Home Built or Custom Creation? or is this something I would have to tackle on my own in my state or Montana?

It’s going to be a state by state basis, but CA and AZ I know won’t call it a brandname from the MSO alone. The manufacturer needs to become registered with NHTSA as a manufacturer and jump through hoops, especially when it comes to emissions stuff in CA

Well…. Here some updates pics… finally. And a rendering of the graphics.

Dash is fully designed and printed in house using asa-carbon fiber.

Come see it Aug1st at the Ramona offroad show. And in completed form at the Sand Show. We plan on having MA1 (complete) @ Weddle booth.. Ma2 (chassis) @whipsNshytAF4D2B57-2B1B-4C37-9ABE-62E33557CBE8.pngDE0B3FDC-B7C5-4581-B94F-7B2771D72329.png21DBA8F6-106E-494A-91E1-D1DF3E3B6EFC.pngDE1964CF-BD66-4514-BD26-CA495188FDE8.pngIMG_6055.jpegIMG_6054.jpegIMG_6042.jpegIMG_6043.jpeg518BA026-6610-489B-BF6B-9A869A3BC91A.png

Back in 2006, I put a deposit down with Tom Nyhuss of Tom Pro Designs for a two seater Hayabusa car and made sure to give him enough to cover the cost of the frame and the DMV paperwork that had a VIN for that frame.

He had to jump through a lot of hoops to get an handful of VIN's for frames he would complete in 2007 (new regulations for builders; Smog BS, etc) and I basically just bought that package ($6,000) instead of a complete car.

The Recession hit, I got involved with a woman that had a kid and we put the build on hold (can't fit three people in a two seat car) and bought a RZR. He then sold my frame and raised his prices saying I didn't give him enough $ for the frame and Title that he paid for (he raised the frame price to $6500). He kept all of my money... which resulted in a long phone call with the SLO Sheriff who now knows this guy's business ethics.

I lost $6,000 to see how this all worked (Builder Titles).

IN the past (with over 100) custom/production builds, the owners have just always taken paperwork to DMV themselves along with Receipts showing tax paid and did their own registration in whatever state they wanted..
