In the last decade it seems that the internet cell service is getting worse and worse out there. This last trip the weekend before T-Day, we could not use it till like 1am. I am now debating bringing Elon's Sky Net out with us next time around. Does anyone here use it at Glamis? Love to hear your opinions?

I have had Verizon since 1999, we camp in the washes and it has always worked OK out there. But man its bad now.

I used our Starlink all week over Thanksgiving. No delays and no outages. Wife worked remote all week using it for calls and zoom meetings. No lag or anything.

Prior I used a cell booster... No comparison. Get Starlink, you won't regret it.

A few people had Starlink in our camp and let us join.  Seamless internet all weekend long.   Starlink is awesome.

Phone showed 5G all weekend, 3-4 bars.  Only thing that would work was texting.............this was in Buttercup where the dunes were not crowded and fast.

Moar people in the dunes using more bandwidth than ever without Infrastructure updates = not so good service.  Also heard the tower belongs to AT&T so maybe they get preferred status ifin yore a Verizon customer

I've wondered about utilizing Starlink out there. With who knows how many people out there, sucking the life out of that 1 tower by the beach store, I've only been able to use internet on slow weekends.

The Moars are known for taking more than they need, raping and pillaging as well…

Awesome guys. So I already have Starlink at my house. I was just gonna get another cable and a mount so all i have to do is bring the dish and the power supply. Are any of you guys running Starlink on a 12v system?

I am thinking about pulling the trigger as well. From the people that own one already do you think it could be temporarily mounted to say the ladder on the side of my trailer? How are you guys using them in the wind?

My att worked great all week. Last year I had Verizon and it only worked til the crowds showed up. Guy in camp had starlink worked great out there.

got a buddy making battery powered starlink housings now.  get 8 + hours of usage completely wireless anywhere anytime!

I live in a rural area where the cable modem’s highest speed is maaaybe 50mbps, and is quickly running out of room for the family.

For those with Starlink RV, does anyone also use it at home? Same equipment?

Starlink rocks.

Ours worked great last week at the dunes.

The wife and I both worked on our laptops with no issues.

Only 120V to run the system, but not many amps so you could run it off a small inverter if you wanted to.

Starlink RV will work at home, but not as well as out in the boonies.

Look at the coverage maps on Starlinks website and that will give you an idea of how well it works at home.

I have starlink RV.  It works everywhere.  Confirmed in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming with nothing but a small cigarette outlet (pure sine wave) inverter and a rental car with it sitting on the roof, a house boat in the middle of Lake Powell, Mexico on the beach, Lake Havasu on a holiday weekend, and Glamis over Vets.  I pause the service when I don't need it.  Used it to stream the ASU UOA game in Mexico this last Friday and watch some world cup.

Axia alloy makes an RV ladder mount for it.  I have a really fancy one I made from HD and 1-1/4 EMT.  I think I spent $5.  It survived that nasty monsoon that hit Havasu over Labor Day with 65 Mph winds.

Coverage at our house is "high capacity" per the map.  Thanks!

I found out a decade ago when I had Sprint that the tower is AT&T,.. so it worked fine the Friday a.m. hotspot for internet a week before Thanksgiving weekend.. then slow as snails later that night and the rest of the weekend. I have a brand new Starlink in the box, but never got around to using it. I will for my next trip.

I do have 2 deep 6v batteries for the daytime. I am thinking my 12v accessory plug inside my camper will do the trick as we also run the genny as soon as the sun sets till late am hours. Does anyone know the required amps for the power supply? I am gonna try the inverter trick.
