AC went out. Have a new one coming from my neighbor, but he does not have a crane so I am looking for someone who can come out Saturday morning. My house is in Rio Verde, AZ, roof access is super close from my dirt driveway, its less than 20' up and 30' away from where the truck could be set up. Anyone on here with a set up that can help me out? I can pay in cash, obviously, but also willing to work out trades for metal work if that is possible and needed. Just trying to avoid the Smiley type. I will pay their prices if I have to but they are high! Thanks all

Thanks. Called them and had to dust off my Spanish skills. They said it is too far but I think I talked them into it. Hard to tell for sure haha. I will take any other recs as well!

You will probably pay more for a Saturday than you would if you catch someone on way out or in for the day. You could ask the local ac wholesale house who they recommend, they should have a relationship. Large truss companies may have a crane they do side work with on way in out, I sold a couple cranes to truss guys one in southern az...

I used a crane in November ad it was only $175 cash. Found these guys recommended by the local AC supply store. Nice, clean and newer equipment.

Rapido Crane 602.910.0774
Rapido worked out wonderfully! My house is hard to find, but they didn't have an issues. Showed up right on time, truck looked great, and very well maintained it seemed. Newer too. When she told me it was too far for them, I hit her with the $300 cash response and landed it. I saved over $200 compared to Smiley ($500 + tax), which to be honest, made me feel better. Mr. Rapido said they have three trucks, which is a pretty dang small business if you ask me. Happy to support and will call them again if I need anything Shaffers can't help me with.

Awesome, same experience I had. Glad it worked out.

that unit looks huge lol. is it heat and air all in one? like on a commercial building?

It is a 3 ton inverter. Do they not all do both heating and cooling? I don't know much about this stuff but my neighbor owns a company and this is actually a unit that he installed on a different building not long ago. The guy changed his mind on it for some reason (may have been too small for his massive garage?) and they pulled it after a day or two. I paid $6,500 for it and it has cooled down my kids' rooms better than my last unit ever did. We were at a point where we closed the vents in one room to push more air to the others and they have been sharing a room for a while. My house is pretty well insulated but their two rooms are on the south side and get hit with the sun all afternoon. Each have two large windows - its been a losing battle. Not happy with having to do this but happy with the unit. Couple this with the new 6.7 I dropped in my Super Duty (hope to pick that up tomorrow) - I am tired of watching my cash disappear. No more please!

In Arizona we use Heat Pumps 99.9% of the time. They have a reversing valve and can do both heat and cooling from the same unit. They work great in AC mode and can keep your house in the low 70's even if it is 120 outside, however in heating mode anything below freezing and they will not keep the house warm. You can get them with auxiliary electric heat strips but you will only find those installed in the higher elevations and not needed here in the Metro area.
