Idaho Dunes

Too expensive at around $4 per mile.  I'm looking at a semi truck hauler that can take all cars in one trip, which is around $.75-1 per mile.
The dedicated loads we've sent out lately (albeit a step deck of some sort) are a bit more that double that.  IIRC, from PHX to Miami was around $5k.

We'll be up at Sand Hills 12-19 of July, currently looking at adding an additional week or two on the front end of that

We went to the demolition derby a couple times and had a blast, full on redneck party! We also brought our golf clubs, there's a decent muni course in 'St Anthony.

We also would stay a week at the dunes and a week up in Island Park for trail riding. Great trails all around Island Park and can ride into West Yellowstone from there.

All good and valid information above. When I went up with family and friends we stayed at IDRV and Egin Lake campground. Egin Lake is a BLM campground and was “first come first served” when we were there. It might be different now, but I liked  it because it was the closest location to the good dunes since we had more butts than seats on that trip.

I'm $2.75/mile flatbed and $3.25/mile enclosed. If you can get a tractor trailer to haul 5 cars, or even a single car, for $.75 to $1 per mile send me his number.

It all who you know, 5 years ago you could call sandcrab and he would close down the spots you wanted before you got there, I think he did that for all GD members,

Sandcrab took care of us a few times!  We camped at all 3 campgrounds and Egin was my favorite, clean and close to the dunes as others have said.

Been most years to IDRV HP wars event . One thing no one else has mentioned is the dirt run to Island Park for lunch . It about 120 mile loop . 91 gas is available at the park .

Where should I send my refund request when I paid $4 for a flatbed? Totally joking, appreciate you helping me last year with a transport.

We would pay $1 per mile when sending trucks from Arizona or Dallas. This was 6 years ago though.

The white water rafting was a fun experience in Jackson hole. As well as the others mentioned.

Also the ice caves

Ice caves were a little creepy for me when it got to the point where you had to crawl on your belly to get to the next opening. Reminded me too much of Vietnam.

When fuel price was 1/2 of what it is now?....I'd bet you'll be 10k round trip.

I agree. I chickened out. Not good with tight spaces.

You’d love it now, us locals have been digging holes with poop covered punji sticks and planting boobytrapped jugs of Idaho Gold Whiskey to stem the tide of invading round eyes…

I was in DC on business and went to the Vietnam Memorial Wall, I couldn’t go on after 20 steps, totally lost it…

its a pretty amazing thing.  it was not real to me until I saw my name on the wall.  this was my uncle (David D).  He & my dad were there @ the same time.  My dad found out after he came back that he was literally on the other side of the same "hill" as my uncle was when he died.

Way to many names.
I’ve been there a few times and feel blessed that I was able to come back to be able to walk the wall.

It’s very scary how one can walk away and one can’t.

Sorry. I didn’t mean to turn this into a “Debbie Downer” thread.
