so anything super cool this year?  new ropes, radios, whips, wheels, tires (what is the story with buggy tires), engines, etc?

did Weddle have a booth?  did they have any fancy new stuff?  seems like they are always doing cool stuff?

IIRC Gear-One had a booth, what kind of stuff did they have?

Weddle was there, they had a pretty cool Manx!

Tires seemed very available, Funcos looked great, and the new SCU looked really nice.

Trucks doing the burnouts on the asphalt was fun to watch.

I noticed a lot less "swag" this year but all in all it was a nice show.

* Minus the "strip search" from Berts Megamall gear and apparel booth. Apparently, my kids, wife, and myself look like we deserved to have our bags gone through upon exiting lol.

That was a first from them, and definitely will avoid that booth in the future.

That sucks to hear they did that to your family. Was there an apology?

Didn't take any pictures, caught up with old friends and new, Funco was well set up with bad ass cars, SCU was nice to see set up. Was nice to look at the Racer in person with good info from Dale. It is a really nice looking car.  The Tatums were there looking stout. I will say Sand Rail Fab looked good. Lots of lights dealers, some cool E Bikes. I think Soul E bikes will be my next purchase.

I was chasing the beer man around, so I got lost a few times. But I got my pass, donated to ASA. it was a good time. :showmoney:

No apology, and they were pretty rude indeed. I said a few words under my breath but didn't need to cause a scene. Yearly we buy gloves, shirts, or goggles there but definitely will not be back to their booth in the future.

Ok rant over haha..

This show was MUCH more impressive than past years. More cars this year than i've seen since rhinos became popular. Weddle was there, I chatted with them for awhile about their S5D which seems like a great transaxle. The standout seemed to be the use of the new Fortin transaxle with the paddle shift. Both Ponts new car and Dale Dondels Racer (with a big block in it) utilized this new unit. Really cool idea, It's a giant all billet unit which looks well built with a giant R&P. I snagged a new whip from Whips n Shyt, and a couple odds and ends for my car along with a couple $100 beers. We only had a few hours to spin through the show so didn't get to see everything, but there was a lot to see. Went with the intention of buying a couple new helmets and HANS devices, but it was such a cluster in PCI I couldn't even move and Rugged didn't bring any race helmets with them. So I walked out without them.

i enjoyed the show, only had one complaint, the lack of full face helmets. daughter needs a new one thought it would be a good place to see different ones and get her one. no luck. i bought an all black one for me on a really good deal, but only saw a couple places that had a very limited stock. we will just take a trip to chaparral. lots of motocross style helmets but its the side by side show and more people using full face not motocross. saw some other good deals on things that i liked but dont need. didnt want to spend money just for the sake of spending money. was nice seeing more deals on new machines again, couple years ago when i bought my RZR you were lucky to get a machine in stock let alone get a deal on one. of course there were plenty that had way too many lights and speakers with a crazy price tag.

Thanks to anybody that stopped by and said hi, apologize if I missed you. Was a little busy most of the time

Good news it seems the economy is ok so a special thanks to those that left money  :classic_biggrin: :classic_biggrin:

You made the show for her Grant. She really enjoyed visiting with you, your wife and Grandma Jerry. Your cars are for sure The Best built sand car on the planet. We're proud to be a part of the Funco family! FINALLY. Peace

I saw him walking around Friday night...............good times, no crowd Friday night as well.

We needed Sand Trap to guide us Saturday. Missed a TON of cool stuff Friday. Missed ya Cookie! Met Dune Flyer in line Friday. Peace

This is the first year I went on a Sunday. I can say I think this will be the new thing. A lot less crowds, no lines for beers, and better deals as most were pushing to sell so they would have less to load up! We did search for new full face helmets and the picking was slim as most people only brought MX helmets as said earlier. Almost loaded up on new rugged radios and pumper for the new car but decided to wait til next year. Also seemed to be more sand cars this year so that was cool.

Yep saw Pat Friday night a well, I would have stopped you but you were on a mission headed somewhere (beer line probably) and my wife was with me, she gets annoyed with me when I stop and talk to everyone.  Heck I just waved at Grant and family, I always stop and talk.  Good times

Could not go this year.  but was Kawi present to address the rumor mill of turbo 4 seater?

I know the feeling. My wife always says......"REALLY?" Yes dear.....Really. We'd still be there if it was my choice. In my defense.................I love this crowd! REAL Duners are the best people on the Planet. Peace
